Hello! ✨

We're x-hoppers, and we believe connected teams create better stores. Built for retail and powered by Wildix, our AI-driven platform helps store associates connect, train faster and serve smarter, so they can deliver the kind of in-store experience today's customers actually expect.

About Us…

x-hoppers is on a mission to bring the communications revolution to the shop floor. Whether it's finding a product, answering a customer's question, getting a new hire up to speed or stopping shrink in its tracks, we put the right information in the right hands, at the right time.

Our platform brings together wireless headsets, voice-controlled AI assistance, smart call points, real-time analytics and 500+ integrations into one unified system, built specifically for the pace of modern retail.

We've got the best of both worlds: the agility of a fast-moving scale-up, with the stability of being backed by Wildix, a global UCaaS leader with nearly 20 years of experience in business technology. That combination is how we've gone from idea to award-winning platform in just a few years.

Today, retailers like Ace Hardware, GasKing, Heron Foods and Pro:Direct trust x-hoppers to connect their stores across the US, UK and Europe. And the industry is taking notice, we've now won the RetailTech Breakthrough Award two years running, along with Gold at the 2025 Merit Awards for Telecom.

We're not slowing down. New markets, new products, new integrations and new teammates (hopefully you!) helping us shape what retail looks like next.

If you've ever wanted to join a brand that's already proving itself but still has the energy, ambition and white space of something just getting started, this is your chance to make a real impact.

About The Role…

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Copywriter to join our marketing team on a 9-month contract, covering maternity leave from 1 February 2027 to 31 October 2027.

You’ll lead content creation and storytelling across formats, from web pages, white papers and sales collateral to presentation decks and social copy. Working closely with our Marketing, Sales, Product and Tech teams, you’ll turn the x-hoppers platform into clear, compelling stories for retail audiences, with a focus on the UK and US, making sure everything we publish is accurate and on-brand.

This role suits someone who can hit the ground running: learning our product and brand voice quickly, delivering from the first few weeks and leaving everything in great shape for the handover at the end of the contract.

Please include a link to your portfolio or work samples with your application.

What You Will Do…

  • Write engaging, informative content on x-hoppers’ products and how they fit into industry trends, including web pages, brochures, white papers, blog posts, video scripts and sales collateral
  • Craft compelling narratives that communicate the features, benefits and value of the x-hoppers platform to retail audiences
  • Build presentation decks for sales pitches to end users and partners, product demos, vendor briefings and industry events
  • Write social media copy for campaigns, events and always-on content, and brief visuals into our Creative team
  • Create copy for email campaigns, landing pages and social media to promote x-hoppers at industry events
  • Work with SEO specialists to optimise content and drive traffic to x-hoppers’ pages
  • Gather product insights and customer stories from Product Managers, Sales,  Tech teams
  • Use AI tools such as Gemini to draft outlines and speed up content creation, while checking every output for accuracy and brand voice
  • Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Contribute to our content strategy and keep a clear record of work in progress to support a smooth handover

What You Will Bring…

  • 5+ years’ experience as a senior B2B copywriter or content strategist, ideally in SaaS, UCaaS or retail technology
  • A strong portfolio covering long-form content, sales collateral and presentation decks
  • Excellent storytelling skills and the ability to turn technical features into clear customer benefits
  • Experience writing B2B social media copy, especially for LinkedIn
  • A good understanding of SEO copywriting and working from SEO briefs
  • Hands-on experience with AI writing tools such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot, plus the judgement to know where they fall short
  • Sharp editing and proofreading skills, with a high level of accuracy and no overclaiming
  • The ability to write in both British and US English
  • Confidence working with technical experts and a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage several deadlines with little supervision
  • Availability to start on 1 February 2027 for the full 9-month contract

Bonus Points If…

  • You’ve written for retail, frontline workforce or communications technology brands
  • You know the hardware, home improvement or convenience store sectors

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
