POSITION OVERVIEW

TransGrid Energy is seeking an ambitious and passionate Senior Contract Manager to join our Development, Planning, and Operations (DPO) team. You will be a valued resource on the DPO team to manage and oversee complex contract management functions of utility-scale energy storage and solar assets.

The Senior Contract Manager will be responsible for or participate in developing, managing, and monitoring contractual obligations between TGE and third party stakeholders. As a key member of the DPO team, the Senior Contract Manager will work closely with DPO team members and across the broader TGE team. The Senior Contract Manager will have primary responsibility for some contracts and agreements as assigned by the Head of DPO. Additionally, the position will be responsible for monitoring a portfolio of agreements to monitor key metrics and ensure that terms and conditions are accurately managed, implemented, and complied with.

Work Model: To balance collaboration and flexibility, this role follows a location-based work model. Employees within 50 miles of the office work onsite five days per week. Employees outside that radius work remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The roles and responsibilities of this position will include some or all of the following activities as directed by the Head of DPO based on the project pipeline, processes and procedures that are established, and the attributes of the organization as it expands:

  • Take responsibility for and manage multiple complex contracts for utility scale solar and energy storage projects.

  • Participate in and/or support contract negotiations and amendments with key partners and stakeholders to ensure contracts appropriately balance the benefits and risks.

  • Develop and deliver status reports, maintain contract tracking systems for issues and resolutions, and address contractual needs in a timely manner.

  • Arrange, organize, and lead regularly scheduled contract management meetings to report, coordinate, and assign contract activities, review and update contract performance metrics, and manage contract/financial risk.

  • Identify and implement enhancement opportunities/risk mitigation strategies of the contract value using data and analytics to inform decisions.

  • Understand compliance requirements of project contracts which may include but not be limited to Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, EPC Contracts, and Financing Agreements.

  • Develop and implement processes, procedures, and operating plans for contract management activities.

  • Evaluate and manage contractual lifecycle requirements to optimize and maximize the operational and financial benefits of the contracts.

  • Work collaboratively with TGE’s internal teams and external partners ensure implementation and proper management of assigned contracts from inception to termination.

  • Develop reports and make presentations to Senior Leadership.

  • Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Environmental or related field of study.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in functions related to electricity trading/marketing, contract management, negotiation, project management and/or related experience.

  • Experience analyzing complex contractual arrangements and using data to support decision making.

  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams and implementing multiple projects.

  • Experience developing strategies for complex and competitive situations involving multiple variables.

  • Experience negotiating and managing energy contracts such as renewables, energy storage, conventional power, combined heat and power, or natural gas.

  • Experience in energy markets, including deregulated energy markets, related to both physical operations and regulatory structures is preferred.

WORK AUTHORIZATION

The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US prior to joining TransGrid Energy LLC. This role will not sponsor or offer assistance with the sponsorship for work authorization in the United States.
