The Senior Content Marketing Strategist owns the strategy, development, and outcomes of Motive’s most important content programs. This senior individual contributor role translates audience and business priorities into a differentiated, full-funnel content that helps move enterprise and strategic prospects and customers through the buying and expansion journey.
This role leads cross-functional programs end-to-end, which could include: thought leadership and executive bylines, AEO and GEO strategy, customer and community storytelling and user-generated content, flagship research reports, partnerships content, social-first strategy, and more, depending on specific skillsets.
You bring deep content craft and strategic judgment, but you are equally comfortable defining the program, identifying the opportunity, setting the roadmap, aligning stakeholders, and measuring the result. You do not need a playbook handed to you—you build the strategy and operating model for the next phase of Motive’s content engine. You understand how AI can sustainably enable and accelerate a content program while still knowing exactly where and how to apply critical human judgment, taste, and direction.
What You'll Do:- Set the strategy, roadmap, and editorial direction for high-impact content programs that support Motive’s brand, audience, and pipeline priorities — including thought leadership, flagship research, proprietary data reports, and long-form editorial.
- Own complex, full-funnel content programs from opportunity identification and strategic brief through production, distribution, optimization, and measurement, ensuring each program serves a clear audience and business objective.
- Build and lead Motive’s customer- and expert-first content program through executive interviews, subject matter expert conversations, customer research, customer proof, peer-to-peer content, and user-generated voices that make the value of Motive credible and relevant to practitioners — in partnership with our Customer Marketing team.
- Use content, audience, and business-performance data to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, improve distribution and reuse, and demonstrate how content contributes to brand and pipeline goals.
- Serve as a strategic content advisor to cross-functional partners, shaping messaging, audience strategy, content selection, and program priorities—not simply executing requests.
- Identify systemic content gaps and build scalable, AI-enabled approaches that improve the quality, speed, consistency, and measurable impact of content across the ecosystem.
- Build trusted peer relationships with PMM, campaigns, demand generation, customer marketing, communications, SEO, brand, sales, and executive stakeholders to align content programs to company priorities and enterprise-plus buying journeys.
- Own the content portions of cross-functional projects (annual research reports, event content, product launch blogs), driving quality and timeline adherence with minimal oversight.
- Set editorial standards and contribute to elevating the overall quality and voice of Motive's external content.
- 6+ years of B2B content marketing experience, with a strong portfolio of full-funnel, enterprise-oriented, thought leadership, research, customer-proof, and other customer-facing content; or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience owning a content function, portfolio, or major program from strategy and prioritization through execution, distribution, measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate technical and data-heavy topics into compelling, accessible narratives.
- Ability to think beyond the individual asset and design content ecosystems that connect audience needs, funnel stages, formats, channels, and business outcomes.
- Experience conducting executive and SME interviews and turning those conversations into high-quality, high-impact content
- Experience developing differentiated content from proprietary data, customer insight, executive perspective, or subject matter expertise.
- Strong strategic judgment and the ability to identify program-level opportunities, make tradeoffs, and create clarity in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.
- Familiarity with the physical operations, fleet management, or transportation industry is a plus.
