At Curriculum Associates, we believe in the potential of every child and are changing the face of education technology with award-winning learning programs like i-Ready that serve a third of the nation’s K–8 students. For more than 50 years, our commitment to making classrooms better places, serving educators, and supporting accessible learning experiences for all students has driven the continuous improvement of our innovative programs. Our team of more than 2,500 employees is composed of lifelong learners who stand behind this mission, working tirelessly to serve the educational community with world-class programs and support every day.

The Senior Content Developer for Spanish Literacy is responsible for creating high-quality, research-based professional learning and educator support materials that drive teacher engagement and improve student outcomes in bilingual and dual-language classrooms. In collaboration with the AVP, PL Portfolio and the Literacy Content Manager, Implementation Manager, and Associate Director, the literacy product team, and the digital content team, this role leads the development and refinement of a strategic, coherent scope and sequence for Spanish-language professional learning aligned to educator and field needs.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in biliteracy instruction, knows how to design effective learning experiences, and can create original, culturally meaningful Spanish content that stays true to both the language and the learning goals. This role balances strategic planning with hands-on development, and requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, and exceptional written communication skills in both English and Spanish.

The impact you'll have:

  • Design, develop, and write Spanish-language professional learning content (on-site and online) that supports the implementation of Mosaico products and enhances educator practice
  • Define and maintain a high-quality scope and sequence for Spanish-language professional learning offerings, ensuring alignment with program goals and educator needs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with program teams, field experts, content strategists, and instructional designers to conceptualize meaningful, field-informed professional learning experiences
  • Create culturally and linguistically authentic Spanish-language content for educators and students, reducing reliance on translated materials and maintaining content integrity
  • Apply best practices in adult learning theory and bilingual pedagogy to design impactful professional learning that engages educators and drives program success
  • Support biliteracy implementation efforts by developing high-leverage educator resources and guidance documents for successful classroom use
  • Partner with Professional Learning Specialists to ensure content is field-ready and impactful for teachers and students
  • Innovate alongside the digital team to deliver Spanish-language content in accessible, interactive, and user-friendly digital formats
  • Identify content needs based on user feedback and performance data, and propose responsive solutions for continuous improvement
  • Participate in internal presentations and cross-departmental initiatives to elevate Spanish-language programming across the organization as needed

What we're looking for:

  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, with demonstrated experience developing Spanish-language instructional or professional learning materials
  • Deep understanding of biliteracy development and early Spanish literacy pedagogy, including phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency in Spanish
  • 5+ years developing professional learning experiences and educator support materials, ideally for K–8 bilingual or dual-language programs
  • Strong skills in designing original Spanish-language content—not adapted or translated—preserving linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance
  • Extensive experience with instructional design tools and platforms such as Articulate, Adobe Suite, Smartsheet, Camtasia, and Zoom
  • Familiarity with both student-facing and adult-facing instructional models, with the ability to scaffold content for different learner needs and delivery formats
  • Experience supporting field-facing teams to align content development with on-the-ground realities and challenges
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects independently, meeting deadlines, and balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day execution
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders, including biliterate team members and field experts
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment with a commitment to virtual collaboration and responsiveness
  • Prior school-based coaching experience and/or instructional design experience in the EdTech space
  • MS/MA in Education preferred, ideally with a focus in literacy, bilingual education, or curriculum and instruction

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
