Configure declarative solutions across Salesforce clouds, direct AI-assisted automation and markup generation, and ensure PHI and HIPAA compliance. Are you powered by hunger and fueled by grit? At Penrod, we don't just tackle challenges; we relentlessly pursue innovation and client success. If you're tired of coasting and ready to accelerate your career in a high-octane environment where your drive directly impacts our shared wins, then buckle up. This isn't just a job; it's a mission for those who demand more from themselves and their work.

Penrod is seeking a Senior Consultant who will lead complex healthcare and life sciences (HLS) engagements by applying Penrod's Search Model: orchestrating solutions rather than simply executing tasks. This role owns end-to-end declarative technical delivery, directs AI tooling to accelerate configuration work, and serves as the technical and domain authority clients and junior team members rely on. Senior Consultants operate with full autonomy on large or complex Implementation Services (IS) and Managed Services (MS) projects and are expected to mentor Base-tier consultants while contributing to Penrod's broader practice.

What you will do

  • Lead technical architecture discussions and configure end-to-end declarative solutions across Salesforce clouds (Health Cloud, Sales, Service, Experience, and others).
  • Own delivery of large and complex IS or MS projects from discovery through go-live, consistently meeting delivery objectives and Variable Compensation (VC) metrics.
  • Direct AI tools to generate complex automation logic and component markup from precise natural language prompts, then review all AI-generated output for PHI compliance and HIPAA adherence before it reaches a client.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders; link solution design decisions directly to client outcomes.
  • Proactively identify systemic issues and propose solutions before being prompted; flag risks before they surface to the client. Mentor Base-tier consultants and drive internal process improvement across the practice.
  • Champion knowledge sharing, teach junior team members effective prompt engineering for HLS configuration tasks and stay current on the latest developments in the HLS space.

What we look for

  • 4–6 years of platform experience, including 3+ years in HLS consulting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one specialty cloud, with 4+ relevant certifications.
  • Track record of leading IS or MS projects autonomously, from scoping through delivery.
  • Deep working knowledge of PHI data handling and HIPAA security rules, with exposure to multiple HLS use cases (Payer, Provider, or adjacent verticals).
  • Client-first mindset; proactively manages client expectations, especially in escalated situations, with an empathy-first approach to conflict.
  • Translates complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and spots systemic issues before they become client-facing problems.
  • Contributes to practice-wide initiatives unprompted; informally mentors peers and shares lessons learned on a regular basis.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
