Sr. Performance Analytics Consultant, Auto & Property Claims Performance Analytics, The Hartford
Reporting to the Director of Auto and Property Claims Performance Analytics, this Senior Performance Analytics Consultant role is accountable for supporting the evaluation of operational and financial trends underlying homeowners’ claims. You will partner with claims, product, actuarial and other segment leaders to proactively share emerging trends and respond to their questions on a variety of KPIs, health of the line metrics and emerging trends or issues. In addition to providing deep analytics, the ability to tell a story with data is an essential skill as you work to influence a diverse audience to drive action and enable business decisions. With a tremendous amount of data at your fingertips across different subject areas, you will partner closely with process owners to develop new metrics, evaluate hypotheses, and drive actionable insights using data.
Responsibilities:
· Ability to identify and drive meaningful improvement within the Claims organization.
· Opportunity to connect newsworthy macro trends to claims trends and operational performance (i.e. inflationary impacts on labor and material costs, impact of storm intensity on claim severity, etc.)
· Work as a thought-partner to business groups inside and outside of Claims to influence decisions related to key initiatives and critical business trends.
· Drive progress on the most important initiatives in property claims through engagement in the Property Value Stream. Sought after as an independent assessment for initiative health and benefit achievement.
· Exposure to segment and actuarial leaders sharing insights at monthly collaboration meetings.
· Develop and deliver data driven stories to a variety of audiences, including senior leaders in the Claim, Product and Actuarial organizations.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of demonstrated strong data analytics skills including identifying patterns in data and root cause behind perceived trends and anomalies using analytical and data visualization tools (e.g. Snowflake, Oracle, Excel, Tableau Desktop and Server, ThoughtSpot, etc.)
· Intermediate SQL skills or better strongly preferred with demonstrated ability to manage and manipulate large data sets, strong understanding of cloud warehousing/relational databases, etc.
· Proven ability to collaborate with business partners to deliver on actionable insights.
· Demonstrated strong communication skills and ability to build strong partnerships.
· Ability to execute on multiple projects concurrently while managing competing priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectives.
· Ability to lead without having formal authority and to work both independently as well as in a team environment.
· Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing trends (operational, industry, and technological)
· Strong attention to customer needs and ability to translate into actionable solutions, documented track record of creating innovative data solutions while balancing quality with speed of execution
· Creative problem solving and curious mindset with a passion for delivering outcomes
· Understanding the Agile framework, use of Rally, is a plus.
· Property claim experience is a plus.
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Naperville, IL) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
