Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Consultant - Clinical to join our growing team!
In this role, the executive level consultant will serve as a strategic partner to employer clients navigating the complex pharmacy benefit and specialty drug landscape. They will bring deep clinical expertise, innovative thinking, and benefit design acumen to help plan sponsors optimize drug spend, enhance outcomes, and improve member experience across pharmacy and medical benefits.
The ideal candidate combines clinical mastery with financial and strategic fluency—capable of translating pharmacotherapy into actionable benefit strategies that deliver measurable ROI. This individual will operate at the highest levels of client engagement, supporting RSC’s pharmacy consulting practice across PBM contracting, specialty drug management, and outcomes-based program design.
How You Will Contribute:
Serve as the lead clinical strategist for employer and consultant teams, shaping pharmacy and specialty benefit design to balance access, outcomes, and cost.
Provide deep clinical expertise across therapeutic areas (oncology, inflammatory, rare disease, cardiometabolic, etc.) to guide plan decisions and formulary optimization.
Support PBM contract evaluation and vendor selection, ensuring clinical alignment with rebate structures, utilization management, and performance guarantees.
Design and implement innovative clinical and cost-containment programs, including specialty carve-outs, GLP-1 management, and value-based contracting models.
Translate clinical data into financial impact models demonstrating ROI, total-cost-of-care savings, and MLR improvement.
Partner with actuaries, analytics, and finance teams to develop evidence-based recommendations for benefit design and specialty program oversight.
Author executive-level insights, client deliverables, and thought leadership to advance RSC’s market leadership in pharmacy consulting.
Mentor internal consulting teams to elevate clinical depth across the practice.
Licenses and Certifications
Licensed pharmacist in good standing
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
MBA, MPH, or advanced analytics degree (preferred)
10–15+ years of experience in managed care, health plan pharmacy, PBM strategy, specialty pharmacy, or risk-based consulting
Deep understanding of pharmacy economics, specialty trend drivers, utilization management, and total cost of care dynamics
Proven ability to advise senior health plan leadership (Chief Medical Officer, Chief Pharmacy Officer, CFO, Head of Clinical Strategy)
Demonstrated success designing and executing clinical and utilization strategies that improve outcomes and financial performance
Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and executive presence
Pay Range
$180,000 - $200,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
