What We Need:

The Senior Compliance Analyst will report directly to the Director, Compliance and Risk Management and serve as a senior member of the Compliance Team. This role blends advanced regulatory expertise with analytical rigor to ensure organizational compliance with federal and state regulations governing Durable Medical Equipment (DME). The Senior Analyst will support the enhancement and maintenance of an effective compliance program for Synapse's key regulatory risks.  The Senior Analyst will coordinate with stakeholders to ensure business satisfies its legal and regulatory obligations and will support business strategies while ensuring a strong culture of compliance and ethics.

What You Will Do: 

Compliance Program Support

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s healthcare compliance program.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on DME operations.
  • Conduct internal audits and support risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures aligned with federal and state regulations.
  • Track and report on compliance metrics and performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to further a culture of compliance and ethics across the business.
  • Assist in responding to government inquiries, audits, and investigations.
  • Maintain documentation of compliance activities, including training records, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Support the development and delivery of compliance training programs for staff and leadership.
  • Help manage incident reporting and resolution processes, ensuring timely investigation and documentation.

Medicare & Medicaid Enrollment

  • Prepare and manage applications for Medicare enrollment and revalidation.
  • Monitor PECOS updates and ensure timely submission of changes.
  • Coordinate with Fee-for-Service Contractors and respond to documentation requests.

Licensure Oversight

  • Maintain and renew DME licenses across multiple states, including medical gas permits, pharmacy registrations, and bedding licenses.
  • Navigate brick-and-mortar mandates, mail-order exceptions, and reciprocity rules.
  • Monitor expiration dates, renew licenses as needed, and keep systems updated with current license status.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, correspondence, and regulatory filings.
  • Generate reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory audits.
  • Support data collection and analysis for compliance dashboards and executive summaries.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with healthcare compliance programs or DME.
  • Familiarity with healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws, rules and regulations.
  • Extensive experience with federal healthcare programs, DME state licensure and Medicare/Medicaid enrollment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate to all organizational levels.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity through ethical standards In all routine responsibilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and department-specific software systems.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • DME experience preferred.
