POSITION SUMMARY:  

Partners with the Compensation Systems Principal to manage the technical implementation and operational optimization of Kemper’s compensation programs.  Works with the Compensation Consulting group and other Rewards team members to support key broad based and other Total Rewards initiatives.  Works with team to develop and support an ongoing competitive companywide compensation program. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Supports company-wide annual and quarterly compensation reviews.  Includes planning, system preparation, testing, and execution of the compensation review systems. 
  • Continuously seeks opportunities for streamlining existing processes, reporting and/or new enhancements to compensation operations. 
  • Delivers key reports for compensation reviews and other compensation related data requests and projects.
  • Participates in and supports key Compensation Team initiatives from an operations and systems perspective through testing and report development. 
  • Provides ad hoc support to the broader Compensation Team, supporting both the Consulting and Executive Compensation areas.  Also provides compensation related support to other HR Centers of Excellence and HR Business Partners, particularly during compensation reviews.

POSITION QUALFICATIONS:  

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in one of the following: broad-based, executive and HR specific Compensation experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Human Resources, or related degree is required
  • Working knowledge of Workday or other large ERP system•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and detail- oriented 
  • Strong Excel background (e.g VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc)
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, written communications, as well as ability to interact with all levels of organization.
  • Ability to use integrity in handling confidential company and sensitive employee information.
  • The range for this position is $86,200 to $143,600. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.  This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
