With a talented team of 600+ Roofsters, our collaborative, can-do culture is what fuels our growth. In 2022, we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in California, Texas, and New York as well as many remote opportunities. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors).
About the Team
Roofstock’s Talent & Culture Division, led by the Chief People Officer, houses the People Business Partnership, Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and Strategic Initiatives teams. The Division’s mission is to drive the continual enhancement of the company’s talent acquisition & development efforts, as well as employee experience, retention, and engagement initiatives.
About the Role
We're seeking a data-driven Senior Compensation Analyst to join our Talent & Culture Team. In this pivotal role, you'll help shape and sustain our compensation philosophy that supports our growth, promotes internal equity, and keeps us competitive in the market. You'll work closely with T&C Strategic Initiatives, People Ops, Finance, Legal and department leaders to design programs that attract and retain top talent. This role offers the opportunity to support compensation strategy, build scalable processes, and establish best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and benchmark compensation data to ensure our pay practices are competitive and equitable
- Support the design, modeling, and implementation of salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs
- Partner with T&C Strategic Initiatives to support the annual compensation review cycle
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners on compensation for new hires, promotions, and internal mobility
- Assist with the development of compensation policies, guidelines, and training for managers
- Maintain compensation-related systems and tools, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Prepare reports and dashboards to support decision-making by leadership
- Stay up to date on trends, legislation, and best practices in compensation and total rewards
- Administer and manage equity via our equity management system (Carta)
- Assess roles and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range
- Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred, or equivalent practical experience
- 3-5+ years of experience as an analyst dealing directly with compensation and equity startup or tech experience is a big plus
- Experience with tools like Radford, Pave, Carta
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing equity-focused policies, programs, or initiatives to promote equitable outcomes with workforce and new talent using Carta
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g. BambooHR, Workday, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
- Ability to translate data into insights and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a passion for operational excellence
- A self-starter with a “builder” mindset to thrive while creating process and structure in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Location
This position is classified as HYBRID within the Greater Oakland Area with an expectation to be in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly.

Compensation
$125,000 - $155,000 annual salary. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.
Pay Transparency
Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors. Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only a part of our total compensation package.
