About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Communications Manager to support Corporate Communications and lead fan-facing work across our commercial businesses, including E-Commerce, Manga, Home Entertainment, Licensing, and Merchandising. Reporting to the SVP of Communications, you will strengthen Crunchyroll's brand, drive key messaging, and create meaningful touchpoints for fans and partners worldwide.

  • Partner with the Corporate Communications team to share company news and initiatives.
  • Prepare press releases, Q&As, backgrounders, and supporting materials
  • Assist executives with interviews, speaking engagements, and industry events
  • Draft executive remarks, presentations, quotes, and award submissions
  • Develop and execute communications programs for E-Commerce, Manga, Home Entertainment, and Licensing/Merchandising
  • Tell stories that connect fans to Crunchyroll's offerings
  • Guide E-Commerce campaigns for exclusives, sales, holidays, and merchandise collaborations
  • Promote Home Entertainment releases and limited-edition collectibles
  • Support the Manga app launch with campaigns for new releases and authors
  • Work globally on Licensing and Merchandising to highlight important deals and partnerships
  • Manage internal messaging, executive communications, and event production
  • Identify anime super fans and leverage celebrity partnerships in sports, film, TV, and music
  • Highlight opportunities for diverse audiences, including US Hispanic, LGBTQ+, African American, and Asian American communities
  • Collaborate with organizations on cross-promotional programming

We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Los Angeles office.

About You

  • 8+ years of experience in media relations, corporate or internal communications, industry relations, or related fields in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Deep understanding of anime, gaming, pop culture, current entertainment trends, and familiarity with Japanese culture.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple important projects effectively
  • Motivated and proactive, able to navigate challenges or high-pressure situations
  • Skilled at anticipating issues and finding solutions proactively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Global mindset with cultural awareness and sensitivity to communicate across diverse teams and geographies
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in a communications or media role

The Crunchyroll Communications team is a nimble group of publicists and communications professionals who love talking about anime, our brand, and the broader streaming entertainment industry. We're storytellers and we connect our passionate fans to the content they love through thoughtful press around our fan-centric touchpoints (SVOD, theatrical, events, games, merchandise, and more).

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
