Position Purpose:

The Senior Manager social media & Media plays a pivotal role in shaping and elevating the global social media and traditional media presence of Sandoz within the Global Media and Digital Communications team. The role is responsible for translating corporate narratives, strategic priorities and reputation topics into impactful, data‑driven social media/media content and campaigns across global channels.

This hands-on position combines strategic expertise with strong operational execution, covering content creation and adaptation, campaign management, analytics, community monitoring and continuous optimization. The role partners closely with Global Corporate Communications, Brand, ESG, HR and regional teams to ensure a consistent, engaging and compliant global presence.
A key element of this role is supporting the Director of Global Digital & Social Media Communications in shaping and executing the global corporate social media strategy, ensuring alignment, excellence and innovation across platforms.

Approximately 70–75% of the role focuses on managing global social media channels. The remaining time is dedicated to supporting the global media team in strengthening processes and contributing to day‑to‑day media activities.
Operating at the interface of global and country communicators, the position offers broad international exposure and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Plan, create and publish high‑quality social media content and campaigns

  • Increase engagement, reach and relevance through data‑driven optimization

  • Ensure consistency in brand, tone of voice and compliance

  • Translate analytics and insights into actionable recommendations

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Develop, plan and execute global social media and media content calendars aligned with communications priorities

  • Write and edit engaging, platform‑optimized social media posts

  • Manage end‑to‑end execution of social media campaigns

  • Create/adapt visual content (images, video, animations) or co-create with agencies. Monitor platforms, trends and conversations across social and media landscapes

  • Analyze performance data and provide clear insights and recommendations. Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders

  • Ensure adherence to corporate, legal and regulatory standards

  • Support issues and crisis communications as needed

  • Draft media materials including briefings, key messages and statements

  • Provide media support for major corporate events and initiatives.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, with fluent English proficiency; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Min 8+ years of hands-on social media management experience, along with corporate communications or media relations exposure.
  • Experience working in regulated industries—preferably pharma—and strong capability in issues and crisis communication.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong copywriting, and storytelling abilities.
  • Expert knowledge of major social platforms, plus proven campaign planning and execution skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights effectively.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva) with hands-on design capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, ability to work with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams, strong project management, high ownership, resilience, and a solution‑oriented mindset.
