As a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect, you will lead customer engagements, design cloud solutions, and promote AWS best practices while enabling a DevOps culture.
We are expanding our team of motivated technologists with a proven track record of delivering results in technology consulting. Specifically looking for a Senior Cloud Architect who's passionate about helping customers build applications at scale. Being an experienced technologist with technical depth and breadth, aided with strong interpersonal skills, you will work directly with customers as part of a delivery team helping to enable innovation through continuous delivery across technology stacks and creating robust solution designs that align to business goals. Your insight and experience will help our delivery teams build architectures and provide prescriptive guidance across network, storage, operating systems, virtualization, RDBMS & NoSQL databases, security, and automation. In addition, you will work with mid-tier technologies that include application integration, in-memory caches, security, and much more!

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategical and tactical scope and work directly with the business representatives/customers to understand the requirements driving the need for a solution to be developed
- Communicate effectively with both business and technical colleagues throughout the course of the project
- Ensure that all the appropriate questions are asked and verify that nothing crucial to the success of the project is overlooked
- Be an AWS evangelist by educating a variety of customers on the value of AWS
- Help customers transition to the cloud in a high-value migration approach that leverages best of breed designs and practices delivered in an agile model.
- Work with customers to enable a DevOps culture and modernize operations and release strategies
- Establish credibility and build impactful relationships with our customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
- Lead in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new, or migrating existing, applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
- Conduct deep dive “hands-on” education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers interested in AWS and to ensure our SAs are up to date
- Attend and present valuable information at Industry Events
Qualifications:
- Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams.
- Lead technical and design discussions with IT executives to help enterprises speed their adoption of new technologies and practices.
- You will have 10+ Yrs experience in architecting application infrastructure with an understanding of agile/scrum, Configuration Management, Infrastructure Automation.
- Must have hands-on architecting, designing or developing applications on AWS (other hyperscalers is nice to have)
- Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability.
- Must have hand-on experience writing IaC (Cloudformation, Terraform,CDK), Bash and Python scripting (PoweShell is nice to have)
- Leverage new technology paradigms (e.g., serverless, containers, microservices).
- Migrate monolithic applications to microservices architectures.
- Advise on implementing AWS best practices.
- Influence infrastructure architecture by sharing your application development expertise.
- Occasional travel to client locations to deliver professional services.
- 10+ years design & implementation experience with distributed applications
- 10+ years of experience in networking, infrastructure, or database architectures
- In depth understanding and professional experience with AWS services and infrastructure
- Must have "Hands on" experience with practices and services related to Automation, IaC and DevOps, being able to write IaC and Python code.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and developers
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to right level conversations
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

Skills and Technical Requirements

- Cloud Certifications
- Demonstrated success as a software developer, infrastructure architect, or consultant working with various platforms.
- Architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform.
- Designing and building application using Container and Serverless technologies.
- Expert understanding of Agile software development and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration and automated deployment.
- Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Jenkins).
- Experience with configuration management platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible).
- Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems.
- Presenting at public events such as technology conferences, hackathons, blogging, writing on technical forums, etc.
- Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers.
