Tech Holding
Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer | Contract | Hybrid | Agoura Hills, CA
About us:
Working at Tech Holding isn't just a job, it's an opportunity to be a part of something bigger. We are a full-service consulting firm that was founded on the premise of delivering predictable outcomes and high-quality solutions to our clients. Our founders and team members have industry experience and have held senior positions in a wide variety of companies – from emerging startups to large Fortune 50 firms – and we have taken our combined experiences and developed a unique approach that is supported by the principles of deep expertise, integrity, transparency, and dependability.
The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer for a project-based assignment to own and evolve a GCP cloud platform across networking, IAM, security, governance, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering. This is a hands-on senior engineering role that combines deep GCP expertise with cloud architecture and DevOps leadership. You will serve as an architectural authority for cloud and system design while maintaining and extending the existing infrastructure-as-code environment, supporting engineering teams onboarding onto the platform, and ensuring the platform remains secure, reliable, cost-effective, and aligned with established standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable inheriting an existing cloud environment, understanding the architecture and design decisions already in place, and improving the platform without unnecessarily rebuilding it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve our GCP landing zone across networking, IAM, security, and governance as requirements change.
- Maintain and extend our infrastructure-as-code estate and the automation that deploys it.
- Serve as the architectural authority for cloud and system design — set standards, review designs, and guide teams toward them.
- Support engineering teams onboarding onto the platform, and keep the self-service path smooth.
- Keep the platform healthy over time: cost, security posture, reliability, and reducing drift between what's documented and what's running.
- Advocate for DevOps practices across the organization.
Requirements:
- Strong cloud architecture background with deep GCP experience; AWS is a plus.
- Solid grounding in landing zone concepts — org hierarchy, network design, identity, org policy, and security baselines — enough to reason about ours and improve it.
- Fluency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu, ideally Terragrunt) and the automation patterns around it.
- Comfortable inheriting someone else's system: able to read existing code and design decisions, understand the intent, and build on it rather than rewrite it.
- Broad DevOps and platform engineering judgment — CI/CD, observability, and release safety.
- Able to work independently and communicate decisions clearly to both engineers and stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Gemini Enterprise and agent platforms.
- Google Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification.
- AWS experience.
Location:
- Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite in Agoura Hills, California, and 4 days remote.
- Contract
