Senior Category Lead – Capital

Location: Remote, USA (Preferred: St. Paul, MN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Category Lead – Capital to join our sourcing team. This role is critical in ensuring supply assurance, cost optimization, and operational excellence across capital procurement activities. You’ll play a key role in managing sourcing operations, supporting internal stakeholders, and driving process improvements—all while maintaining strong vendor relationships and system integrity.

Travel Requirement: This position requires approximately 20% to 25% travel, primarily for supplier visits, project support, and cross-functional collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities

Sourcing & Procurement (30–60%)

  • Support capital sourcing activities including RFQs, bid analysis, and vendor negotiations
  • Track material usage, forecast demand, and manage volume-based rebates
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing best practices and internal policies

Analytics & Reporting (20–40%)

  • Conduct spend analysis and support bid preparation
  • Monitor sourcing performance metrics and identify cost-saving opportunities

Transactional & Operational Support (10–30%)

  • Manage pricing updates, invoice discrepancy resolution, and vendor registration
  • Serve as the first point of contact for plants and suppliers regarding payment issues

Systems & Process Optimization (Variable)

  • Maintain ERP and sourcing systems with accurate data
  • Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes and system workflows

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of sourcing or procurement experience
  • Demonstrated experience in CAPEX (Capital Expenditures) sourcing or project support
  • Familiarity with S&OP, ERP, and payment systems
  • At least 1 year of experience in the petrochemical industry
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with 1+ years of capital sourcing experience
  • Experience with Greenfield projects or new construction lines

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000.
