HubSpot’s Legal team is a cornerstone of our organization, driving ambitious growth and supporting critical business objectives across employee development, product innovation, sales, M&A, data privacy, and beyond. As we scale, our Legal Technology team is crucial in driving a technology roadmap that addresses our most critical challenges, ensuring that we can continue to support business objectives effectively and efficiently.

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and supporting core technologies, optimizing and building scalable processes, and leveraging data to inform decisions that deliver seamless experiences for our internal stakeholders. You’ll collaborate deeply across the organization, including Employee Technology, Procurement, Finance, and Financial Technology partners, to develop solutions that support end-to-end business needs.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as a strategic technical advisor and problem solver for the Legal department, working closely with the team to translate needs into robust technical solutions.
  • Drive initiatives that optimize and scale operations by implementing, configuring, and integrating SaaS business applications—ensuring usability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Build, automate, and simplify workflows using flow-based automation tools (e.g., Workato), webhooks, and APIs. You will own the solution design, implementation and adoption.
  • Serve as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for select legal systems, with a deep technical understanding of system configuration, core business use cases, and their role in the wider systems landscape.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends—including AI and other emerging technologies—to spot opportunities for innovation and promote the adoption of new technical capabilities within Legal.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Employee Tech, Financial Technology, and other business partners to assess requirements, define configurations, and architect solutions.
  • Deliver actionable, data-driven insights by developing, reporting, and visualizing key performance indicators to track business value and technology adoption.
  • Shape and advocate for a clear, technically feasible product roadmap, prioritizing iterative delivery, integration excellence, and measurable outcomes.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is highly technical, with strong hands-on experience in SaaS application management, configuration, API usage, and system integration design.
  • Always brings a strategic lens to stakeholders’ challenges, guiding change efforts that align people, processes, and technology to deliver measurable impact.
  • Is adept at identifying overly complex processes and simplifying them using automation, integrations, and scalable technical solutions (experience with flow-based tools like Workato is a plus).
  • Has experience and understanding of legal technologies - contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, document operations, and enterprise service management tools. Direct experience with legal technology platforms is a strong plus, but not required.
  • Is data-driven—with the ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and present KPIs and metrics to demonstrate technology ROI and operational impact.
  • Has a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive execution across multiple stakeholders, and deliver impactful business results.
  • Communicates clearly in both technical and business terms, can influence and align stakeholders, and values collaboration and consensus-building.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments—highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities with autonomy.
  • Is passionate about empowering Legal teams with technical expertise and operational excellence.

If you’re a strategic leader with robust technical acumen - ready to innovate and drive business value at the intersection of technology and Legal & Compliance, we’d love to hear from you!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
