About Caribou

At Caribou, we care about giving people financial freedom so they can focus on what’s most important to them. Today, less than two percent of Americans refinance their auto loans despite drastic increases in the cost of new and used cars. We see huge potential to help folks reduce their monthly auto expenses, as well as increase the predictability of those expenses over time. We do this by building technology to pair customers with community banks and credit unions, and ushering them through the process quickly. On average, our drivers save $162/month on their car loans while protecting their investment long term.

Caribou is led by leaders from the technology, automotive, and finance industries. We’re proud to be backed by a great team of investors, including QED Investors, Goldman Sachs, Moderne Ventures, Accomplice, Link Ventures, Motley Fool Ventures and others.

About the Role

Caribou is looking for a Senior Financial Systems Analyst (Senior Business Systems Administrator, NetSuite) to join our Accounting team reporting directly to the Controller. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our financial processes, ensuring our financial systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for high-velocity growth.

In this role, you will…

  • Serve as the primary administrator for our financial systems, including Netsuite, UKG and Avalara. Manage day-to-day operations, while providing high-level hands-on support for users.
  • Act as the product owner for the financial tech stack, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains through gap analysis, process mapping, and system enhancements.
  • Lead the hands-on customization of NetSuite and UKG. Gather complex requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications, custom workflows, and SuiteScripts.
  • Ensure application reliability and performance during critical periods. This includes overseeing data accuracy for month-end and year-end close and building sophisticated, customized financial reports.
  • Troubleshoot system errors, data issues, and workflow problems to ensure minimal disruption to financial operations.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and external consultants for more complex issues and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop detailed technical solutions, recommend suitable architecture, implement solutions that support new business initiatives and oversee the appropriate change management requirements.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
