Zayo is seeking a Senior Business Relationship Manager to be responsible for the overall management of a value focused portfolio, supporting one or more of our business partners or technology domains. The Senior Business Relationship Manager role requires a deep understanding of the assigned domain, leading cross-value stream collaboration, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and facilitating SAFe planning and completion. The Senior Business Relationship Manager ensures alignment for a quick time to market and high-quality deliverables while actively supporting the evolution of the SAFe model. Possible portfolio domains include: Customer Experience & Retention, Product, Prospect to Order, Network, Finance, Corporate Services, Data Services, IT Infrastructure, IT Security, IT Application Services.  

Responsibilities:

  • Value Stream Portfolio Management: Oversee one or more of the portfolios, ensuring all initiatives align with strategic objectives and drive business value.

  • Business Domain Expertise: Develop a thorough understanding of the assigned business domain and the related book of work, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.

  • Cross-Value Stream Facilitation: Facilitate collaboration for initiatives that span multiple value streams, ensuring cohesive efforts and resource optimization.

  • Advocacy and Stakeholder Management: Act as a champion for all parties involved, promoting effective communication and collaboration to expedite project delivery and enhance product quality.

  • Roadmap Alignment: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of product and technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and effective execution.  Lead direction-setting for one or more of the portfolios, ensuring alignment across business and technical teams. 

  • SAFe Model Support: Actively support the evolution and implementation of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) model within the organization, fostering an agile mindset.  Knowledge of SAFe roles & responsibilities required, including working experience in multiple SAFe roles.  Must have a strong understanding of epic and user story creation, as well as how to decompose work for PI and sprint planning.  

  • Architectural Partnership: Collaborate closely with architecture teams to develop solutions that meet both business and technical requirements, ensuring execution aligns with the overall plan.

  • Relationship Management: Build and manage strong relationships across the value stream, including IT resources, business partners, and stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.

  • SAFe Delivery Performance: Lead critical SAFe ceremonies and planning sessions to ensure adequate planning, ongoing performance and success across all performance metrics. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe) are a plus.

  • Minimum of seven (7) year of proven experience in a business relationship management or similar role, preferably within a technology-focused environment. 

  • Track record taking ownership from idea through launch, sustainment and enhancement. 

  • Strong knowledge in multiple portfolio domains (listed above), as well as experience in portfolio management, technology lifecycle, and project execution.

  • Demonstrated experience working within Agile frameworks, with a preference for familiarity with SAFe principles. 

  • Knowledge of traditional SDLC lifecycle methodologies is a plus to support our evolution from waterfall to agile. 

  • Jira experience a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering value and improving processes.

  • Proven capability to motivate, inspire and facilitate cross-functional teams and initiatives, fostering collaboration and accountability.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $95,800 - $136,900 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
