The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for becoming a Subject Matter Expert for Risepoint’s Student Success Center product area, along with working as a liaison between business partners and the application development teams. The Senior Business Analyst should be proficient at understanding and documenting existing processes and systems, along with recommending potential improvements and assisting users in designing solutions under the general direction of a Product Owner. 

 Responsibilities Include:

  • Gather and document requirements from business stakeholders and translate business needs into solutions / system design.
  • Assess existing solutions and user behaviors to identify areas for improvement, including how users interact with solutions, how well the solutions support processes, and how well the solutions achieve desired results.
  • Conduct gap analyses to determine areas for business opportunities.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories within an agile framework and work with development resources to provide clarity and address concerns.
  • Track reported system issues, develop recommendations for resolving issues, and drive timely resolution to ensure processes run smoothly.
  • Document as-is and to-be process maps based on interviews with business stakeholders.
  • Work with the quality assurance team to ensure that test cases are identified, changes are properly tested, and business requirements are met.
  • Identify opportunities for improved data quality and translate business needs into reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive business relationships.
  • Successfully multi-task across several concurrent priorities.

Qualifications Include: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of business analysis, technical support, and/or product analysis experience.
  • Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is preferred, with a focus on Salesforce.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing complex systems; excellent problem solving and interpersonal communication skills are a must.
  • Detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication; able to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to business partners.
  • Strong relationship building skills; comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business.
  • Good listening skills, with the ability to uncover underlying needs.
  • Must have a desire to achieve excellent project outcomes and exceed stakeholder expectations.
  • Works independently with limited supervision, coordinating assigned tasks to closure.
  • Must have experience working with cross functional teams.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies. (Waterfall, Iterative, AGILE)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
