Job Summary:

The Senior Billing Analyst will be responsible for accurately processing and managing customer invoices, resolving billing discrepancies, and proactively identify root causes and resolutions for arising issues. They should have leadership qualities with the intention to assist and lead other teammates when needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of billing procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.

All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA and other regulations, as appropriate.  

Essential Functions

  • Generate and send out customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner through the billing system.
  • Responsible for accuracy and completeness of billing based on client guidelines
  • Update billing systems with pricing and other changes to the client’s subscription as outlined in SOPs.
  • Review and reconcile billing discrepancies
  • Investigate and resolve billing inquiries from customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and improve processes
  • Maintain accurate records of billing activities and transactions
  • Process approved adjustment requests from Operations and Client Services
  • Assist with month-end closing activities as needed
  • Handle hypercare and customer escalations in a prompt and professional manner
  • Display knowledge of monthly imports and execution, when required
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with willingness to guide other members of the team when applicable
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned based on business need

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in billing or accounting role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proficiency in company accounting software (e.g., Netsuite and Salesforce)

Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • Remote working environment
  • Activities require a significant amount of work in front of a computer monitor.
