Job Description
We are looking for a polyglot Senior Backend Engineer to join the Data Platform team. You’ll help build and scale the foundational services, APIs, and pipelines that power the Postscript product. This role blends strong backend engineering skills with a deep appreciation for data intensive systems, performance, and reliability. You’ll collaborate closely with other software engineers, data engineers, and product to help e-commerce marketers maximize their revenue with best-in-class targeting and context driven AI.
Primary Duties
- Design, develop, maintain, and scale the Data Platform team’s services and APIs
- Build batch and streaming data pipelines
- Act as tech lead for individual projects: write design docs, scope tasks, and delegate to other engineers
- Maintain and enhance Postscript’s third-party integrations
- Contribute to team planning and process improvement
What We’ll Love About You
- 6+ years of experience writing and shipping production software in GoLang
- Hands on python experience in production or non-production settings
- Experience building and designing high-scale systems AWS with broad variety of database technologies (RDBMS, OLAP, NoSQL, etc.)
- Working knowledge of event-driven distributed systems, Kafka, distributed data processing technologies (Flink/Spark/etc)
- Proven track record of success in remote startups, particularly in mid to late stage companies
- Strong desire add new technologies to your toolkit
- You thrive in ambiguity and love solving complex problems
Nice to Have
- Terraform or IAC tools
- Building and deploying applications on K8s
- Experience building streaming and/or batch data pipelines and ETL

- Hiring Manager Intro: You’ll hop on a quick call with the Hiring Manager so your future Manager can get to know you better — This is a great time to learn more about the team & position.
- Technical Coding Interview: You'll meet with 1 Engineer to chat through your backend development experience.
- Day 2 interviews:
- Systems Design Interview: You'll chat with 2 Engineers to go over a previous project discussing your systems design experience.
- Final FEACH Interview: This is our interview to assess your ability to represent how you work via our FEACH values. As we build the #1 team in Ecommerce, we look for individuals who embody FEACH professionally and personally. We want to hear about this in your final interview!
- Reference Checks: We ask to speak with at least two references who have previously worked with you, at least one should be someone who has previously managed your work.
