Job Description:
In this position as a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will support federal financial reporting, financial statement preparation, and annual reporting activities for a federal client. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing financial statement support, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with federal accounting and reporting requirements. In this position, you will also:
- Prepare financial reporting schedules, supporting workpapers, and footnote documentation for annual financial statements.
- Reconcile Financial Statement Data Warehouse (FSDW) outputs to CCC CORE, FMMI, trial balances, and manual financial statements.
- Perform trial balance integrity checks and research discrepancies to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Prepare supporting schedules for the Balance Sheet, Statement of Net Cost (SNC), Statement of Changes in Net Position (SCNP), Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), Budgetary Activity Report (BAR), and financial statement footnotes.
- Support GTAS and SF-133 reconciliations and validate financial reporting submissions.
- Draft variance analyses and respond to Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) requests for financial data and reporting support.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial reports, management narratives, and required disclosures.
- Prepare financial statement binder documentation, cross references, and audit support packages.
- Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge transfer documentation.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience supporting federal financial reporting, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, workpapers, and audit documentation.
- 1+ year of experience applying OMB Circular A-136, FASAB standards, GTAS, Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR), SF-133, and other federal financial reporting requirements.
- 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Excel to perform financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting, with strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing financial documentation and variance explanations.
Desired Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear financial documentation and variance explanations.
- Experience supporting federal credit reform accounting.
- Experience working with Financial Statement Data Warehouse (FSDW), CCC CORE, FMMI, or similar federal financial systems.
- Experience supporting CFO Act financial statement audits and responding to audit requests.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or other relevant financial management certification would be preferred.
At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $90,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
