ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

Market and Treasury Risk Management (MRTM) team, under the guidance of the Chief Market and Treasury Risk Officer, within the Risk Management organization is responsible for the second line of defense independent risk management oversight for the market risk (banking book and trading book), the liquidity risk and capital. Corporate Treasury Oversight (CTO) team within Market Risk, provides oversight over interest rate risk (IRR), liquidity risk, capital, investment portfolio, and derivatives hedging portfolio. The team performs a broad range of analysis and provides review and challenge to Treasury activities and strategies.

The position resides in the Capital Oversight team within Market and Treasury Risk Management (MTRM) group.  Individual assists in the independent risk oversight of KeyCorp’s capital management process including the end to end monitoring and testing of capital management, the capital adequacy and stress testing (CASTA) process, risk-weighted asset methodologies, metrics development, and ongoing monitoring of risk limits and governance requirements.  Role works directly with 1LOD and 2LOD stakeholders to ensure findings are verified and sustainable in accordance with Key’s issues management standards. 

Joins an organizational culture that encourages acknowledgement and recognition of enterprise risks and places a high priority on understanding and risk management of all Treasury functions. The successful candidate reports directly to the Senior Director, Capital Oversight.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in oversight over the identification, assessment, management, mitigation, and escalation of existing and emerging risks affecting the firm’s capital or financial position
  • Collaborate with impacted stakeholders on strategy, root cause and approach for remediation of identified deficiencies and perform verification activities for 1LOD and 2LOD finding remediation
  • Provide review and challenge of risk-based capital practices including risk-weighted asset methodologies
  • Identify risks and evaluate control effectiveness for the capital management organization supporting regular reviews with the Capital Committee
  • Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive capital oversight program
  • Evaluate and credibly challenge, as appropriate, risk metrics pertaining to capital management
  • Assist with internal and external audit, examination, regulatory inquiries and investigation requests for information
  • Facilitate training across MTRM of capital management concepts and supervisory expectations
  • Support on-going awareness of emerging industry and regulatory developments as they pertain to the business and its customers
  • Remote work location acceptable

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree (or its equivalent) in statistics, mathematics, economics, financial engineering, data sciences, predictive modeling, or other quantitative disciplines and at least 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in statistics, mathematics, economics, financial engineering, data sciences, predictive modeling, or other quantitative disciplines and at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experienced financial services risk professional with solid understanding of existing and emerging risks facing the financial services industry

Risk and Governance:

  • Broad knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of market risk practices
  • Strong understanding of governance relating to risk management
  • Experienced in risk assessment methodologies, internal control analyses

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $90,000 to $130,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
