JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

What You'll Do:Corporate Development & Strategy
  • Own and lead assignments in exploring and evaluating potential partnerships, acquisitions and investment opportunities to drive growth and innovation, including development of business cases, financial modelling and contract negotiation & drafting.
  • Own and lead assignments in identifying and implementing strategies to unlock value within the organisation, including turnaround efforts for underperforming subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure alignment and execution of strategic initiatives across the organisation, including performance monitoring of KPIs and providing analysis & recommendations
  • Own and lead assignments for BPR (Business Process Reengineering) initiatives, conducting thorough analysis of existing business processes to identify areas for improvement and utilising project management skills to plan, document, execute, coordinate, and monitor initiatives.
Corporate Planning & Intelligence
  • Develop, enhance, monitor and manage Corporate KPI report – for early warning detection / trends affecting Corporate Performance
  • Analyse the performance of our competition across media platforms e.g. IPTV, OTT and report significant movements at regular intervals in a timely manner, along with strategic recommendations for Management
  • Gather and disseminate market intelligence to respective segment teams at regular intervals including insights from news, various research and trend observations, , along with strategic recommendations for Management
  • Lead and conduct in-house research/studies based on subscribed intelligence tools
  • Liaise with research agencies to commission and manage output that helps the team meet its research objectives
  • Manage and monitor the research budget and associated contracts
Investor Relations and Corporate Finance
  • Own relevant reporting cadence to market and Board of Directors, adding value by enhancement of reports and/or insertion of strategic recommendations
  • Drive engagement with investor community
  • Lead corporate finance exercise within the Group including but not limited to Project Financing, Business Development, and Optimization of Group Assets

Knowledge, Education, Work Experience
  • Bachelors Degree with exposure to analytical courses (including but not limited to Accounting & Finance, Data Science, Economics, Marketing, Law, Engineering, Politics etc.)
  • Masters, Advanced Degrees and Professional Qualifications are preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience and performing at Senior Manager – Assistant General Manager equivalent in scope and responsibility
  • Experience in strategy is required (e.g. Strategic Planning, Consulting, Product Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations Management etc)
  • Demonstrates corporate finance and investor relations capabilities encompassing, but not limited to, financial modeling, valuation, funding analysis, and investor messaging.
  • Understanding of research techniques and methodologies with previous experience in running research projects
  • Strong passion for the entertainment industry is a plus, on-the job training will be provided to on-board.
Practical Skills and/or Abilities
  • Microsoft Office skills (Power Point, Words, Excel etc)
  • Proficient written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Research software (Qualtrics, Sawtooth or similar)
