About Rain

At Rain, we’re rebuilding the global financial pipes money flows through. Our infrastructure makes stablecoins usable in the real world by powering credit card transactions, cross-border payments, B2B purchases, remittances, and more. We partner with fintechs, neobanks, and institutions to help them launch solutions that are global, inclusive, and efficient. If you’re curious, bold, and excited to help shape a borderless financial system, we’d love to talk.

Our Ethos

Operating at the epicenter of stablecoin innovation means moving fast and thinking globally. Our team reflects the diverse, international audiences we serve. We hire people who stay agile as the tide ebbs and flows, fix what’s broken without waiting, chase trends before they peak, and remember to have fun through it all.

About the Role

We’re looking for our first dedicated Analytics Engineer – a technical builder who can consolidate fragmented data sources, model them cleanly, and turn raw information into trusted, reusable datasets and metrics that power decisions across the company. As Rain scales from hundreds to thousands of customers, we need someone who can make our data accessible, reliable, and self-serve for Product, BD, Customer Success, Compliance, and the Executive teams.

Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, this role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics. You’ll own Rain’s core data models and analytics layer, partnering with teams across the company to answer critical questions:

  • How are customers using our infrastructure across products and geos?

  • Where are our exposures by country, partner, and use case?

  • Which behaviors predict retention, revenue expansion, and risk?

  • How are we tracking against our OKRs and company metrics?

You’ll design the models, metrics, and dashboards that help us understand our business, prove value to customers and make faster, smarter decisions.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand their data needs and translate them into clear modeling and reporting requirements.

  • Design, build, and maintain core data models (e.g., customer, account, transaction, product usage) using tools like dbt to transform raw logs into canonical, analytics-ready datasets.

  • Define and maintain company-wide metrics for business health, customer engagement, product usage, transaction volumes, payment success rates, and other mission-critical KPIs.

  • Develop dashboards and self-serve analytics layers that make it simple for non-technical teams to explore data, track performance, and answer their own questions.

  • Analyze cross-customer and cross-product trends to surface insights that inform product roadmap, go-to-market strategy, and operational improvements.

  • Establish and enforce data quality standards, testing, documentation, and governance so teams can trust the numbers as we scale.

  • Continuously improve Rain’s analytics stack evaluating new tools, refining models, and raising the bar on performance, reliability, and usability.

Who You Are
  • Builder's mentality – Energized by being an early analytics hire at a fast-growing fintech; comfortable owning the full lifecycle from ingestion and modeling to metrics and dashboards.

  • Modeling & SQL expert – Strong analytics skills with deep proficiency in SQL and experience building dimensional / semantic models that are easy for others to use.

  • Modern data stack fluent – Hands-on experience with analytics tooling (e.g., dbt, modern ELT tools, Airflow orchestration frameworks) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift).

  • Business-minded – You don’t just ship tables and charts—you partner with teams to clarify the questions that matter, design the right metrics, and translate data into strategic recommendations.

  • Clear communicator – Able to distill complex data concepts into simple, compelling stories and artifacts for executives, GTM leaders, and customers.

  • Customer-focused – Motivated by helping Rain prove and quantify value to enterprise clients and giving customer-facing teams the data they need to win.

  • Experienced – 5–7+ years in analytics engineering, data analytics, or data engineering roles, ideally at early-stage or high-growth B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments companies.

Nice to Have
  • Experience as a founding or early analytics engineer, building an analytics foundation and self-serve culture from 0→1.

  • Previous experience at a crypto, Web3, or blockchain company

  • Background working with payments data, card programs, transaction processing, or other financial services infrastructure.

  • Experience in regulated industries (fintech, regtech, compliance) with familiarity around security, data governance, and audit requirements.

Benefits

Our team works hard, so we make sure our benefits do too. Here’s what you can expect as a Rainmaker:

  • Top-tier coverage: We cover 95% of Medical, Dental, and Vision premiums.

  • 401(k) with matching: Invest in your future, just like we’re investing in ours.

  • Ownership that matters: Every team member gets equity because we believe in building together.

  • Work your way: Flexible hybrid setup with a prime SoHo office for NYC-based teammates.

  • Unlimited PTO: Because time to rest and reset is just as important as time to ship.

  • Product-first perks: Monthly budget to test our cards and features like a real user.

  • Wellness support: Monthly stipend to spend on fitness, therapy, or whatever keeps you thriving.

  • Home office setup: One-time stipend to create a space that works for you.

  • Team connection: Frequent company events, team dinners, and offsites to stay connected.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
