Senior Analyst, Strategic Insights

Location: US remote

The Strategic Insights team has a strong foundation in strategic analytics, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders and conducting deep dives into customer behavior and content. Our insights directly inform strategic decisions, delivering significant value to Chegg. Our team pairs its analytics capabilities with a strong focus in strategic finance, guiding the company’s financial direction by analyzing the long-term impact of initiatives and unlocking Chegg’s financial and unit economic potential.

Strategic Insights underpins Chegg's Strategic Growth organization, whose mission is to strengthen Chegg's long-term growth trajectory through corporate strategy, corporate development, and strategic finance. Strategic Growth seeks to reinvigorate Chegg’s growth through business expansion, acquisitions, and partnerships.

The role   

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join Chegg’s Strategic Insights team. This role blends strategic analytics and strategic finance, focusing on deep dives into user behavior, content, and financial performance to uncover key insights that shape Chegg’s future. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Finance, and other Analytics teams to assess new initiatives, evaluate risks and opportunities, and enhance financial forecasting. Through data-driven storytelling and rigorous analysis, you will help optimize Chegg’s strategic direction, ensuring sustainable growth and maximizing long-term value.

   

Responsibilities  

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of user journeys to build models that uncover relationships between user behavior, churn/retention, and LTV.
  • Collaborate with product and marketing analytics teams to ensure visibility into new initiatives, assess their impact across multiple business areas, and evaluate risks and opportunities holistically on the overall business.
  • Work closely with Finance and Analytics teams to monitor business performance, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to drive operational decisions and enhance financial forecasting.
  • Support financial analyses that (1) bring clarity to ROI, (2) clearly articulate business model implications, and (3) reinforce the long-term financial objectives of the company. Support the framing, quantification, and prioritization process.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Chegg’s strategic priorities along with the pathways that bring them to fruition; nurture an intellectually authentic environment for making high-stakes decisions
  • Present analyses and evidence-based recommendations supported by compelling strategic narratives and rationale to a broad audience

   

Requirements   

  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in analytics and/or data science.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., math, statistics, business, or economics) required. Master’s degree preferred.  
  • Strong data wrangling skills; strength in SQL, R, Python for data analysis, modelling and visualization.  
  • Analytical toolset including understanding of statistics (time series analysis, cluster analysis, multivariate analysis).  
  • Experience in financial modeling preferred.
  • Experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools like Tableau preferred
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, independent, organized and proactive, highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable when working across multiple teams.
  • Passionate about producing high-quality analytics deliverables and communicating analyses and recommendations effectively to a broad audience. Be able to provide 30,000 feet perspectives as well as live in the details
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

The pay range for this position is $78,947 - $230,261. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
