Beam is looking for a Senior Data Analyst who exemplifies a passion for data analysis, driving strategy, storytelling, and building data solutions. Data is one of our largest assets at Beam, and this role is crucial in delivering valuable insights and data products that will empower the organization.  This person will work with both business and technical stakeholders to better understand our business challenges and become a subject matter expert in our data to produce the most beneficial recommendations. This role will be cross functional in nature, working with stakeholders across and external to Beam on projects relating to financial and pricing strategy.

Ideally you may have a background in accounting or finance and be ready to hit the ground running helping us mature our data structures and dashboarding around this functional area.

What You Will Do:

  • Exemplify a passion for data and possess the ability to transform it into actionable insights
  • Analyze large data sets and glean insights to deliver to stakeholders autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Build complex dashboards using LookML to deliver business insights to key stakeholders
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to consult on business challenges and make business recommendations, especially in pricing and financial decisioning
  • Build dbt models to support data needs for reporting
  • Have high attention to detail and the ability to ask clarifying questions to ensure the accuracy of analysis
  • Display a high level of business acumen and strong communication skills to deliver effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Be tenacious in learning our business’s opportunities and becoming a subject matter expert 
  • Collaborate with other analysts on best practices to uplift team knowledge and performance

What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:

  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics
  • 2+ years of experience with complex SQL
  • 2+ year professional experience with LookML and Looker Dashboards
  • 1+ year professional experience with dbt preferred
  • 1+ year professional experience with Git
  • Experience with predictive analysis and statistical methods
  • Experience building data visualizations using BI tools like Looker, Power BI, Tableau etc
  • Exceptional communicator and storyteller with strong client-facing data presentation skills
  • Professional experience in Insurance, Accounting, Finance, or Pricing disciplines 
  • Experience using R or Python is a plus

Beam offers a competitive base salary paired with an attractive variable compensation structure.

Additionally, Beam provides a 401(k) plan with company matching, flexible time off, and the opportunity to participate in the equity program.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
