The Consultant, Legal Pricing and Data Management job is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing complex datasets to generate actionable insights, with a specialized focus on law firm spend, rate structures and benchmarks, pricing agreements, and performance management. This highly visible role partners with Law leadership, Legal Operations, Finance, and our law firm partners to support data-driven decisions related to engagements, billing rate negotiations, RFPs, AFAs, and firm selection.
With minimal supervision, this role builds and maintains detailed reports and dashboards, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and effectively presents findings to stakeholders to meet business objectives. The position integrates advanced analytics with hands‑on understanding of legal operations and law firm management.

The expected salary for this position is approximately $110,000 to $140,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal.
Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.

Key Accountabilities
- DATA COLLECTION & ANALYSIS: Captures, processes, prepares, and analyzes complex datasets to extract significant insights. Develop and maintain reports to streamline data analysis. Conduct advanced spend analytics related to law firm rate structures, regional benchmarks, practice areas, matter types and engagement trends. Perform strategic analysis to support law firm selection and evaluations.
- STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Cultivates and maintains positive partners relationships to understand reporting and analysis needs. Provides insights and finds improvement opportunities. Ensures reporting solutions address key objectives.
- REPORTING & VISUALIZATION: Builds detailed reports and dashboards using various tools (e.g. PowerBI) to communicate spend, rate trends, matter complexity, firm performance and staffing patterns. Designs and implements data visualizations to communicate complex data clearly.
- STATISTICAL ANALYSIS: Performs statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data for data manipulation and analysis.
- PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Identifies opportunities to improve data collection and reporting processes and implements standard methodologies for data management and reporting. Analyze opportunities to leverage AI in analytics, pricing, legal service delivery and reporting.
- COLLABORATION: Works closely with cross functional teams to understand data needs, value opportunities and delivers solutions in partnership to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- LITERACY: Coaches and advises to mature data consumption and analytics capabilities.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE & DATA VALIDATION: Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across all reports and analyses.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with law firms and/or legal support vendors.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to identify, present, and convey findings to leadership and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pricing analytics, legal operations, or law firm management.
- Understanding of law firm billing practices, RFPs, pricing structures, AFAs, and engagement mechanics.
- Ability to influence without authority through data-driven insights.
