We're looking for an insightful and culturally curious Senior Analyst, Consumer Insights to contribute to the development and execution of Crunchyroll's global primary research initiatives. Your mission is to help scale the volume of primary research and analysis needed to superserve our marketing, brand, GTM, content, and strategic orgs. In this role, you will help shape how we understand anime fans around the world—from their viewing habits and cultural influences to their values, needs, and behaviors.
This role supports the Consumer Insights Manager with day-to-day responsibilities including survey design and programming, analysis, and reporting, delivering strategic insights that inform decisions across marketing, content, product, and partnerships. In addition to supporting the Consumer Insights lead, the role collaborates closely with other Research & Insights pillars, including the Market Intelligence and Content Insights teams, giving a motivated individual broad exposure and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization.
- You will support the Consumer Insights Manager and other team members with the design and execution of global consumer research studies (Crunchyroll user and anime consumer surveys, brand and IP trackers, marketing/brand campaign measurement studies).
- You will contribute to these studies from inception through completion - from project and vendor management, to the collection, preparation, extraction, and analysis of data.
- You will assist the team with questionnaire design, sample matrices, survey link checking, screener harmonizations, tabulation planning and creation, data processing, report development, and insights preparation.
- You will design end-to-end studies with guidance from Consumer Insights Manager.
- You will translate primary research into clear and actionable insights that support go-to-market strategy, fan engagement, and long-term planning.
In the role of Senior Analyst, Consumer Insights, you will report to the Senior Director, Head of Research and Insights. We are considering applicants for the location of Los Angeles.
About YouWe get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You have 5+ years of experience in primary market research (quant methods), ideally with a focus on entertainment or media.
- You have 2+ years of experience running or managing longitudinal quant studies (brand and/or IP trackers).
- You have a strong background in survey design (using tools like SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, Decipher, etc.), Q/Displayr/R/SPSS, data analysis, slide design, and reporting.
- You are experienced in crafting user-friendly surveys that delight participants and insights that influence content marketing, brand strategy, or product development.
- You have experience working with large data sets (survey data in particular), including crafting banner plans and data visualizations
- You have a great eye for detail and care deeply about data quality and rigor.
- You bring a passion for anime, consumer insights, or fandoms and a keen interest in exploring global youth behaviors.
- You know how to effectively communicate with diverse sets of people, each with different needs, priorities, timelines, and business relationships, including internal stakeholders and external vendors
- You're collaborative, intellectually curious, and intrinsically motivated
- You thrive in a cross-functional team environment and can move with speed without sacrificing precision.
- You have excellent analytical skills – you care about the details and others in your team often come to you to sense-check their work and help them solve tricky technical problems.
- You possess advanced writing and synthesis skills – you can see the wood from the trees and enjoy telling compelling stories with data.
- You enjoy reading “research on research” papers and applying the latest best practices to survey design.
- You demonstrate strong organizational abilities, able to manage various projects independently while collaborating effectively across teams
