Role overview

Our Design department is scaling its AI visual production capabilities - and we're looking for a Senior AI Creative Designer who will produce high-quality visual creatives with the primary goal of improving conversion rates. We’re looking for a designer who is deeply engaged with the fast-moving AI landscape, proactively tests new tools, features, and approaches, and is driven to continuously improve how AI is used in day-to-day creative work. This role sits at the intersection of creative storytelling, generative AI, and performance marketing - creating visual assets that capture attention and convert cold traffic across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google, and landing pages: from static ads to lifestyle imagery and photorealistic human characters.

You will work closely with marketers, copywriters, media production, and video editors to produce assets that are photorealistic, visually compelling, and true to client product specifications.

Responsibilities

AI Visual Production:

  • Create high-quality AI-generated visuals for performance marketing campaigns across paid media channels and landing pages.
  • Produce photorealistic human imagery, lifestyle scenes, and product-focused visuals.
  • Work with source materials from photo shoots - enhance, retouch, and extend imagery using AI tools.
  • Generate multiple creative variations to support testing and scaling across campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency with brand guidelines and product requirements across all assets.

Creative Iteration & Testing:

  • Iterate on visual concepts based on performance data and creative feedback.
  • Explore different visual angles, hooks, and formats to improve conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with copywriters and marketers to align visuals with messaging and funnel logic.
  • Translate briefs into multiple creative directions, not just single outputs.

Quality & Realism:

  • Ensure high visual quality and realism (lighting, composition, anatomy, textures).
  • Identify and fix common AI issues (artifacts, distortions, inconsistencies).
  • Maintain a strong visual standard across all generated content.

AI Tools & Workflow:

  • Use modern AI tools and models to generate, refine, and enhance visual assets.
  • Actively research, test, and integrate new AI tools to improve output quality.
  • Work within structured production workflows with a focus on execution and creative output.

Performance & Optimization:

  • Understand how visual content impacts campaign performance and audience engagement.
  • Adjust creative output based on data and testing results.
  • Support A/B testing by delivering multiple creative variants.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketers, copywriters, media production, and video editors to ensure creative alignment.
  • Provide visual input during concept development and campaign planning.
  • Ensure assets are structured and ready for use in video production and marketing funnels.
  • Document all tasks clearly in ClickUp per team standards.
Requirements

Skills & Background:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in design, visual content creation, or creative digital marketing (paid social, social media content, performance campaigns)
  • 1-2+ year of active hands-on experience with AI image generation platforms (Figma Weave, Higgsfield, Magnific, Runway, or similar) - producing photorealistic human imagery, lifestyle scenes, and product-focused visuals.
  • Cross-platform proficiency, experience in connecting AI outputs with traditional design pipelines (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong visual sense: composition, lighting, color, typography, realism, and human anatomy.
  • AI-Geek: stays close to AI news and new releases, experiments hands-on with emerging features and workflows, and is constantly looking for smarter ways to improve the quality, speed, and effectiveness of creative work.
  • Ability to conduct audience/target group research and reflect it properly in the visuals
  • Understanding of performance marketing basics (CTR, hooks, conversion-focused creative).
  • Ability to iterate quickly based on feedback and data.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual quality.
  • Proactive mindset - suggesting improvements, not just executing tasks.
  • Clear communication and strong collaboration skills.
  • Portfolio with AI-generated photorealistic visuals demonstrating quality and high-end visual sensibility.
  • Upper-intermediate English (B2) or higher.

Nice to Have:

  • Basic understanding of how static visuals translate into video production pipelines.
  • Experience producing creative assets for high-CPA verticals (home services, insurance, finance, or similar).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
