KBR is seeking a Senior Acquisition Support Specialist to assist with the successful delivery of space systems. This person will play a crucial role in providing recommendations translating mission needs into operationally delivered end-to-end solutions through developing and coordinating documentation necessary for execution.  Position is based in El Segundo, CA, and focuses on supporting the Hemisphere program.  As part of this role, the Lead will be collaborating closely with the Space Systems Command’s (SSC) Combat Power (CP) Program Executive Office (PEO). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary financial and programmatic trusted advisor to Government Program/Project Managers regarding acquisition strategies, schedules, contracting, budgeting, and execution

  • Delivers continuous proactive support to Government Program/Project Managers throughout full financial lifecycle and applying expertise ensuring compliance to all operating financial controls and adherence to regulations and policies

  • Prepares periodic status reports; coordinates and executes periodic staff meetings and technical interchange meetings

  • Develops acquisition plans, schedules, and executive program briefings

  • Develops, drafts, and coordinates overarching planning and execution documents as prescribed by/tailored from DoDI 5000.02/Acquisition Framework, and relevant DoD, AF, and local unit policies that pertain to rapid prototyping

  • Provides technical and programmatic assessments of development contractor design/milestone reviews to assess progress, risks, and issues—including the ability to achieve mission requirements

  • Provides program element coordination, staffing, and monitoring; advises and assists Government customers regarding funding commitments, obligations, and expenditures, as well as drafting and supporting delivery of program funding documentation and monthly financial reports

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (i.e., program management, accounting, finance, etc.)

  • 12 years of applicable job experience

  • Proficient with DoD Major Capability Acquisition System process, Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process, Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution process, and/or experience in the National Security Space and the Space Control mission area

  • Highly knowledgeable in the fields of Air Force / Space Force contracting and financial management

  • Prior program management or finance experience

  • DoD TS/SCI eligibility is required to be considered for this position

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in related field (program management, accounting, finance) or MBA with 10 years of experience supporting DoD acquisition programs

  • PMI PMP certification

  • Experience with analyzing and aggregating large programmatic and financial data for program metrics to drive speed in agile acquisition processes

  • Proficient in CCaR and MS Project software

  • Prior source selection experience

Basic Compensation:

$150,000 - $175,000

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity. 

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
