Senior Acquisition Lead

KBR is seeking a Senior Acquisition Leads to serve as Subject Matter Experts (SME) to assist with the successful delivery of space control systems. You will play a crucial role in providing recommendations translating mission needs into operationally delivered end-to-end solutions through developing and coordinating documentation necessary for execution. These positions are based in El Segundo, CA, and focus on supporting the Hemisphere program within the Space Command and Control (Space C2) Program Management Office. As part of this role, you will be collaborating closely with the Space Systems Command (SSC) Battle Management Command, Control & Communications (BMC3) Program Executive Office (PEO). Your primary responsibilities will involve actively and directly contributing to the development, deployment, modernization, and expansion efforts of the Space C2 program.

Qualified candidates will have in-depth experience with DoD program acquisition processes that include generating source selection criteria, developing integrated master schedules, and/or developing supporting artifacts for defense acquisition boards. You will interact and coordinate daily with numerous stakeholders (Program Managers, Contracting Officers, Finance, System Engineers, and external/partner organizations). The successful candidate will have excellent communication and team skills. 

Job Description:

  • Provides expert advice to the Government Program Manager and Senior Space Force Leadership regarding acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and execution
  • Expert in software acquisition programs within the DoD to include classified ACAT-like space control systems
  • Offers strategic approach for developing documentation required to support Defense Acquisition Boards
  • Highly knowledgeable in developing and coordinating all activities and documentation required to support source selections
  • Demonstrated experience with Air Force contracting and Air Force financial management
  • Fluent in being a team lead for acquisition and systems engineering professionals to support ongoing and emerging program acquisitions
  • Experienced in schedule management of DoD programs
  • Serves as a strategic problem solver for the program office and refines acquisition strategies, as well as identifies program execution issues with accompanying solution recommendations
  • Generates presentation materials, status briefings, and strategic communication inputs
  • Perform analyses of program business cases, risk assessments; and offers actionable recommendations to the Government Program Manager.
  • Develops and collaborates on acquisition planning briefings and documents (AoA, ASP, ASD, J&A, etc.)
  • Develops and collaborates on solicitation planning and execution documents (RFPs, SOWs, CDRLs, Incentive Plans, etc.)
  • Drafts technical evaluations and functions as an advisor in Source Selections

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related science field (systems engineering, software engineering) and 12 years of experience
  • Well versed communication style to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices
  • TS SCI Clearance with an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI)
  • Agreeable to be nominated for access to Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in related science field (systems engineering, software engineering) and 10 years of experience
  • Understands Program Management of ACAT I through ACAT III programs
  • Served as an evaluator/advisor on at least one Source Selection
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA
  • SAP eligible
  • Certifications: DAWIA/APDP Program Management Level III, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or PMP Program Management Professional (PgMP)

Target salary range for El Segundo

$175,000……………$235,000

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
