About the role.

As a Senior Accounting Manager reporting into the Global Controller, you will play a critical role on a small team in overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and driving process improvements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, provide strategic insights, and support financial reporting to enable data-driven decision-making at the executive level. 

Job Description:

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Lead revenue recognition and expense management, ensuring adherence to ASC 606.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage and mentor team members ensuring professional growth. 
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and tax filings.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining technical accounting memos.
  • Collaborate with FP&A on variance analyses and ad hoc analyses.
  • Stay up to date with accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices relevant to SaaS/software businesses.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Experience with Software License and/or SaaS startups is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite, Avalara, Airbase, Expensify, and other useful accounting software.
  • Google Suite and Microsoft Office proficiency (with mastery of Excel and Google Sheets).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and to prioritize & manage multiple projects.
  • Must be self-motivated and someone who can lead their accounting functions with little guidance
