The role

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee a variety of day-to-day operational tasks and ensure accurate financial records. In this role, you will work closely with the rest of the Accounting & Financial Operations team based in Barcelona, as well as with other departments, to improve our processes whilst ensuring compliance.
 
What will you be doing?

  • Participate in and own areas of the monthly and yearly closings as well as perform daily bookkeeping.

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to guarantee accuracy and completeness across different companies within the group.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations across different geographies.

  • Implement and improve internal controls and accounting procedures, especially for accounts payable and bank reconciliations.

  • Assist in the implementation of accounting tools & software.

  • Continuously improve financial processes to support company scalability.

  • Prepare for and support annual audits, including compiling required documentation.

  • Generate financial reports and KPIs for internal stakeholders upon request.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally on finance matters throughout the business.


What will make you a great fit

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a startup or fast-paced environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of Spanish GAAP and local tax legislation.

  • Experience managing all areas of accounting operations.

  • Proficiency with accounting software - NetSuite a plus.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills.

  • Strong understanding of internal controls and financial compliance.

  • Proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in English.

  • Proven capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Growth mindset - comfortable working in an evolving startup environment.

  • Tech awareness - active interest in technology and automation. We constantly strive to improve and automate our policies so that we operate world class processes.

  • Excellent team player

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA/ACCA a plus).
