Senior Accountant Overview

The Senior Accountant will oversee the company’s accounting operations with a focus on managing financial reporting, general ledger activities, and supporting real estate investment and property management functions. This individual will be a key contributor in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and supporting strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and month-end close.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Oversee property-level accounting, including rent rolls, tenant reconciliations, and property operating expenses.
Support real estate investment analysis and assist with cash flow and budget forecasting.
Collaborate with property management and leadership teams on financial performance.
Assist with tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Identify process improvements and implement best practices in accounting procedures.

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within real estate or property management.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with property management accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, MRI) a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
