JOB LOCATION

This is a US REMOTE position.  

COMPENSATION

$85,000.00 - $125,000.00 / year, Exempt, with a discretionary bonus of up to 10%.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with Cost Accounting and NetSuite experience to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant oversees financial data and cost management across multiple warehouse locations, reporting directly to the Cost Accounting Manager. This role will assist with analyzing and tracking operational costs, inventory, and production expenses to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, with a proven track record in general ledger accounting, costing, reconciliations and financial analysis.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Track actual vs. budget costs to identify discrepancies and suggest corrective actions. 
  • Prepare detailed cost analysis reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS), product margins, and manufacturing variances. 
  • Responsible for assisting with review of accounting coding and cost update for all new items created, and responsible for month-end inventory valuation accuracy. 
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting. 
  • Assist with monthly closing and production of financial statements to ensure compliance with deadlines. 
  • Prepare cost reports to analyze production costs, including labor, material, and overhead costs. 
  • Assist with preparing audit schedules, invoices, providing explanation of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field.
  • Possess an excellent understanding of manufacturing Cost Accounting principles. 
  • NetSuite or similar ERP experience. 
  • General Ledger accounting experience. 
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc.), analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

Bonus points if you have...

  • Experience working in manufacturing or agriculture industries. 
  • CPA designation is a plus. 
  • Experience with procurement and inventory analysis. 
  • Start-up and large company experience. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

  • Up to 10% to attend onsite meetings.
