Dreamscape Learn, a pioneer in the realm of immersive virtual reality learning design, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting practices, financial reporting, and analysis. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements while providing valuable insights to support business decision-making.

Accounts Receivable

  • Customer invoicing based on contracts.
  • Overseeing all collections and managing customer correspondence and relationships
  • Manage NetSuite invoicing items & AR related back-end setup.
  • Prepare and distribute AR Aging Detail on a weekly basis.

Accounts Payable

  • Maintain Purchase Orders (transitional).
  • Review coding of bills entered.
  • Review payment file for bill processing (NACHA).
  • Oversee vendor correspondence and perform bill reconciliations.
  • Manage Accounts Payable Reconciliation & AP Aging (transitional).

Month-End Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the Intangible Asset Schedule (including tech IP and content).
  • Develop and manage Prepaid Expense Schedules.
  • Handle accruals (Departmental & ASU royalty).
  • Conduct Inventory Reconciliation & track Inventory Movement (transitional).
  • Perform AR Reconciliation.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries.

Team Management and Optimization

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts while providing variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and support them with necessary documentation.
  • Review and improve accounting procedures and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of internal controls and help to develop and enforce them.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in regulations affecting the accounting profession.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum [insert years of experience] years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and databases (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial personnel.
  • High level of integrity and ethics in handling confidential information.
