Why This Role Exists

As Onebrief grows, the complexity and volume of our accounting operations continue to increase. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to help maintain accurate financial records, strengthen our accounting processes, and support timely financial reporting.

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, you will work on core accounting activities across the business, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and close processes. You will also partner across Finance and other departments to resolve issues, improve processes, and help our accounting operations scale with the company.

What You’ll DoCore responsibilities:
  • Work on daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare accurate financial statements and reports

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, internal controls, and financial compliance

  • Maintain accurate data across accounting systems, improve processes, and partner with teams across the business

Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations at a software as a service company

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles

  • Experience supporting monthly and quarterly close processes and preparing financial reports

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and handle sensitive information with sound judgment and integrity

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working at a fast paced startup

  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification

  • Experience with NetSuite, Brex, and Zip

  • Experience supporting external audits and internal controls

  • Experience improving or scaling accounting processes within a growing organization

Indicators of Success

This role will evolve as priorities change, but the outcomes below reflect what success typically looks like in the first six months.

A successful Senior Accountant will:

  • Deliver accurate and timely accounting work across assigned areas

  • Help complete monthly and quarterly close processes on schedule

  • Maintain reliable reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting documentation

  • Improve the efficiency and scalability of accounting processes

  • Build strong partnerships across Finance and other departments
