As the Senior Technical Revenue Accountant, you will lead technical revenue accounting initiatives, including ASC 606 compliance, complex contract reviews, and new product/pricing assessments. This role requires someone who can not only deliver robust technical conclusions but also understand the operational impact on our order-to-cash (OTC) processes.
You will collaborate closely with the Revenue Accounting team and cross-functional partners, translating technical policies into scalable solutions that integrate smoothly into our financial systems.
What you’ll do:
- Lead complex contract and deal reviews (non-standard terms, bundled/combined offerings, multi‑element arrangements), ensuring ASC 606 compliance and flagging issues early in the sales cycle.
- Own and evolve our ASC 606 revenue policy, including SSP analyses and allocations, as new products, pricing models, and contract structures are introduced.
- Assess revenue impact of new pricing and product launches; advise on appropriate treatment and deal structures in partnership with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, and Product.
- Translate technical conclusions into operations by partnering with Revenue Accounting Operations, Order Management, and AR; identify policy–process gaps and drive scalable, low‑complexity fixes.
- Support OTC systems and architecture (e.g.,Salesforce), recommending enhancements that align system design with revenue recognition policies.
- Streamline non‑standard contract workflows with Legal and Deal Desk to balance compliance and business objectives.
- Support internal and external audits, including audit schedules and responses to technical accounting inquiries.
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on technical revenue accounting under ASC 606; CPA preferred.
- Deep understanding of order-to-cash (OTC) processes and how technical accounting decisions impact operations.
- Experience with revenue recognition and OTC systems (e.g., Salesforce, Ironclad) or equivalent tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical issues into clear, actionable guidance.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and balance technical rigor with operational practicality.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
