Performance Objectives
- Coordinates accounting functions and programs.
- Prepares financial analyses and reports.
- Prepare cash tax payment forecasts.
- Assists with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Assists with annual audit preparations.
- Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Prepares federal, state, local, and special tax returns; Along with maintenance of tax records in a organized manner.
- Technical accounting including but not limited to adoption of new accounting standards, ASC 606, ASC 842 and ability to research accounting guidance.
- Ability to prepare accounting memos in accordance GAAP requirements.
- Ability to work with multi-currency entities and ability to translate cross-currency payments (i.e. USD payments made to CAD entities/jurisdictions).
- Intercompany activity reconciliations and analysis for internal tracking and tax implications.
- Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Ability to work and comply with internal SOX related requirements.
- Trains teammates on processes and functions within the department.
- Performs other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Competitive Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree from a three or four-year college or university
- 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience.
- CPA, or on CPA track, preferred but not required.
- Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
- Works independently with general supervision.
- Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.
- May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
- Advanced financial analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Strong communications skills and ability to work virtually with coworkers around the globe.
