About the role

As a  Senior Accountant on the Accounting team, you’ll play a critical role in helping the team with the month-end, quarterly and financial closing process. You’ll have the opportunity to dive into new accounting standards and drive their implementation. You’ll be essential in helping with Paxos’ day-to-day accounting activities, overseeing aspects of the general ledger including but not limited to, cash management and intercompany functions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including strategic finance, treasury and operations to provide valuable insight. This role is critical to Paxos’  success, ensuring that all reporting timelines are met and financial information is accurate, enabling informed decisions that drive growth and profitability.

What you'll do 

  • Perform both routine and non-routine/complex monthly close responsibilities
  • Analyze books and records on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and international statutory reporting requirements
  • Liaise with external audit firm on both routine and non routine matters
  • Participate in and guide the the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls
  • Assist in designing new processes and enhance existing ones; implement scalable processes to support the Paxos’ growth, and drive continuous improvement
  • Enable Paxos to meet internal and external reporting requirements

About you

  • A minimum of 3 years of combined experience in public accounting (audit) and private/in-house accounting 
  • Experience in start-ups and/or financial services 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA license and strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience overseeing and managing accounting staff
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP or other cloud-based accounting software
  • Strong drive to continuously improve the accounting operations, controls and financial reporting processes, including leveraging systems and technologies to improve workflows and scalability
  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills

Pay and benefits

Paxos offers a competitive total compensation and benefits package, including equity and bonuses based on both your individual performance and company performance. Eligibility for bonuses is dependent on job level, and actual salary within the range depends on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

Expected range for the base salary component for candidates located within the United States is:
$104,826$123,325 USD
