The Opportunity

Root is looking for an Account Executive to be a trusted customer advocate, who helps our partners understand best practices around advanced insurance solutions. The crux of the job is to provide advice and strategies for optimizing the integration between Root and the partner to improve performance.

You’ll help drive successful business outcomes across a broad set of enterprise partners through your passion for education, training, design, and optimization. And you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build deep adoption and broad use of Root’s embedded insurance services with our partners.

Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus and offices in other locations to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.

Salary Range:  $93,000 - $110,000 (LTI and Bonus Eligible)

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our partners and their day to day needs, questions, performance reviews, and optimizations.

  • Identify business development opportunities through targeted pipeline development, targeted outreach, and other sales activities.

  • Serve as an advocate for partners and can tie product value to C-level outcomes

  • Focus on optimization, execution, efficiency, speed to market and standardization across our different partners

  • Demonstrate ownership and ability to build upon success metrics and ongoing development for the Account Manager Role

  • Conduit between our partners and internal cross-functional teams: Product, Analytics, Data Science, Legal, Engineering, etc

  • Develop a deep understanding of Root’s capabilities and how they serve our partners

  • Understand the partners’ requirements and is able to articulate to product and engineering so that a solution can be designed and implemented effectively

  • Responsible for exceeding and managing partner expectations

  • Contribute regularly to documentation based on partner feedback:

    • Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews 

    • Business Proposals to partners outlining the benefits of our technical and product solutions

    • Performance Reports related to Marketing Campaigns, etc.

  • Recommend creative solutions to problems in order to keep integrations moving forward

  • Discern when to pull in Senior Root leadership

  • Demonstrate presentation skills and a high degree of comfort speaking with a large cross functional group of individuals in many different roles.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to forge deep and wide relationships across the partners’ organization

  • Structured approach to interpreting data to deliver key results

  • Take ownership of OKRs and KPI and builds supporting material and documentation outlining value and impact towards these metrics.

  • Willingness to travel

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 5+ years experience in sales, business development, or account management  (e.g. managing many partners across many business segments, multi-level relationship building, account growth and retention, networking, data & analytics, marketing)

  • Experience in a technology company 

  • Experience with managing marketing business to business marketing programs

  • Experience in business to business account development 

  • Understanding of insurance use cases a plus
