Location: Remote (U.S. based, with travel as needed)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

The Sr. Account Manager will own and grow key retail relationships across food, drug, mass and club channels, with a focus on driving revenue, expanding distribution, and strengthening in-store presence. This role is highly cross-functional and hands-on, requiring someone who can operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, lean environment.

You will be responsible for the full scope of account management, including buyer communication, forecasting, performance analysis, and cross-functional alignment. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is scrappy, self-motivated, and excited to build.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day management of key retail accounts across food, drug, mass and club channels (e.g., Walmart, Target)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers and partners
  • Lead line reviews, sell-in presentations, and ongoing business updates with customers
  • Analyze syndicated data (Circana/IRI) and internal performance to identify opportunities and risks
  • Develop compelling, data-driven stories to support distribution, shelf placement, and promotional strategy
  • Create and manage account forecasts in partnership with demand planning and supply chain
  • Monitor and manage account performance against sales targets and KPIs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment and execution
  • Support and manage broker relationships as needed
  • Track competitive activity, category trends, and customer insights to inform strategy
  • Operate with a strong P&L mindset, understanding the financial impact of decisions
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of account management experience, preferably within drug or mass retail channels
  • Experience working with major retailers such as Walmart, Target, or similar
  • Strong category management experience, including the ability to independently pull and analyze syndicated data (Circana/IRI)
  • Solid forecasting and planning skills
  • Strong understanding of retail fundamentals, including shelf strategy, consumer behavior, and merchandising
  • P&L awareness and ability to make financially sound decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to retail buyers and internal stakeholders
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
  • Collaborative and able to influence cross-functional partners without direct authority
  • Self-starter with a scrappy, business-owner mindset and comfort operating in a lean, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer meetings

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
