A BOLDSCIENCE Senior Account Executive (SAE) will have prior experience working within the medical communications industry (or similar) and demonstrates strong organizational skills, project & financial management, communication, and quality control skills. This has given them a solid platform to hit the ground running in their new position at BOLD. An SAE is an organizational guru who can juggle multiple deadlines, prioritize their workload, and shift focus based on business needs. An SAE does not wait to be told. They are clear on the expectations of their role and know the key information they need to acquire to get the job done, and when needed, will stop and sense check with their account leads. They ask the right questions to ensure they have all the relevant background information to carry out their role independently. SAEs have a hunger to learn and are always looking to develop their knowledge and further fine-tune their project and financial management skills. Communication is second nature to an SAE, and their account leads trust them to provide regular updates, stop to ask questions, and sense check their approach where necessary. An SAE thrives as part of a team and builds strong, trusted relationships with everyone they work with. As well as providing support to their account team, they will start to help and mentor new Account Executives as they begin their BOLD journey.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

At BOLDSCIENCE, no two days are the same, and our SAEs play an active, hands-on role in providing day-to-day support to their client account teams. • Clearly understands the roles of their internal account team and how their day-to-day responsibilities contribute to the wider team, and the need for account leads to be kept in the loop.

Project Management Skills:

  • Starts to take ownership of key tasks, including status reports, actions lists, and contact reports, ensuring all information is up to date
  • The account leads trust that an SAE can proactively drive elements forward independently but stop to sense check where necessary
  • Coordinates the scheduling and execution of internal/external meetings, preparing agendas and meeting minutes. Proactive and persistent in making sure follow-up actions are being driven forward
  • An SAE does not need to be told; they are clear on their responsibilities and can drive actions forward independently
  • Continues to develop project management skills, ensuring that the team has all relevant information before internal/external meetings, including status reports, invoice trackers, and purchase order tracking
  • An SAE has excellent communication skills and ensures that their account lead has an accurate snapshot of account activity, providing regular updates and flagging any foreseeable problems
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach. Happy to roll up their sleeves with all activities across their accounts, including assisting with onsite preparation such as onsite materials and assisting with booking travel and accommodation
  • Works with the wider BOLDSCIENCE team (Scientific, Creative, Editorial, Finance, etc.) to ensure timely review and delivery of client deliverables

Financial Management Skills:

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
