Lead strategic, 360-degree communications programs for tech and startup clients. Serve as C-suite counselor, craft high-impact storytelling and investor materials, secure top-tier media placements, mentor and grow teams, and drive new business and account expansion while collaborating across social, paid, design, and talent functions.
Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture—from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse.
Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum. We operate at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, executing seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether we are navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core.
You may notice our digital presence is purposefully understated. While our clients are global household names, we believe the best work happens when the spotlight stays firmly on those we represent. We fly under the radar by design - preferring to let our campaigns, and our results, speak for themselves.
If you're driven, intentional, and ready to do good, we're ready for you!
Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is seeking a brilliant, strategic, and calm-under-pressure Senior Account Director to join our rapidly expanding Technology practice. This role is designed for a heavyweight communications leader with 10+ years of experience who is ready to architect the narratives of the next generation of Fortune 500 companies. Our Tech practice is as diverse as the industry itself, spanning fintech, healthtech, gaming, VR, hardware, and the venture capital firms that fund them. We are looking for an entrepreneurial "player-coach"—someone who can navigate a complex financial stakeholder meeting in the morning and lead a high-energy media brainstorm in the afternoon.
The Role:
- Integrated Strategic Leadership: Architect 360-degree communications programs that bridge corporate reputation, consumer brand awareness, and executive thought leadership.
- C-Suite Counsel: Serve as a trusted advisor to founders, CEOs, and VCs. You are the steady hand during complex issues, providing thoughtful counsel that protects and elevates client reputations.
- Modern Storytelling: Produce high-impact, persuasive content—from sophisticated messaging and investor-facing materials to sharp media pitches and event submissions.
- Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Act as the hub for integrated accounts, partnering with experts in social media, paid media, design, and talent integration to build "speed-of-culture" campaigns for tech brands.
- Media Authority: Leverage a deep-rooted network of top-tier contacts at TechCrunch, WIRED, Forbes, CNBC, and beyond to secure placements that move the needle on a client’s bottom line.
- Team Growth & Mentorship: Direct and develop a team of high-performing executives. You are a career-builder who takes pride in coaching junior staff and driving team efficiency through consistent, constructive feedback.
- Business Development: Drive agency growth by leading new business pitches and identifying organic expansion opportunities within our existing roster.
- The Player-Coach Mentality: You lead the room but you aren't above getting in the trenches to ensure a project is delivered with meticulous attention to detail.
Who You Are:
- The Tech Veteran: 10+ years of experience in PR/Communications, with at least 4 years of direct people management. You understand the nuances of the VC landscape and capital markets.
- A Strategic Partner: You don’t just execute; you think outside the box to create impactful media moments and navigate the needs of financial stakeholders and thought leaders.
- The Nuanced Leader: You lead with high EQ and a calibrated ego. You know exactly when to drive the conversation forward with authority and when to serve as a strategic observer to let the best ideas—or the client—shine.
- Culturally & Digitally Fluent: You live in your browser and on your feed. You understand how social trends, digital communities, and brand partnerships can be leveraged to humanize complex tech.
- Exceptional Writer: You are fast, creative, and persuasive, capable of translating dense technical concepts into compelling human stories.
- Entrepreneurial & Driven: You thrive in an environment where you can build and scale a practice, always aiming to over-deliver rather than simply meet expectations.
