About the Role:

The Security Engineer, Observability plays a critical role in the operational integrity and effectiveness of the organization’s security telemetry infrastructure. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and operating scalable and resilient systems that provide continuous visibility into security events across on-prem and cloud environments. A strong emphasis is placed on operational excellence, ensuring that data pipelines are reliable, performant, and capable of supporting real-time threat detection, incident response, and compliance requirements. The engineer will lead efforts in troubleshooting data ingestion issues, maintaining uptime of observability platforms, and operationalizing the delivery of high-fidelity security data to downstream consumers such as incident response, threat detection, and product teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create, enhance, and deploy data pipelines to integrate into a SIEM 

  • Work with team members to plan the deployment of, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security telemetry infrastructure 

  • Automating manual processes to improve team efficiency 

  • Monitor and respond to incidents, ensuring timely remediation of issues 

  • Collaborate with multiple business units outside of Information Security 

  • Mentor and support junior security engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning within the team 

  • Create documentation of procedures and standards 

  • Assist with ad-hoc operational tasks as required 

  • Stay current on the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously evolve the company’s security posture 

  • Contribute to the culture of information security across the organization

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent 

  • experience 

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience security engineering roles, with a focus on enterprise-grade solutions 

  • Industry certifications, such as CISSP, GSEC, Security+ 

  • Experience with managing infrastructure in cloud/hybrid environments 

  • Hands-on knowledge of managing or working with Linux 

  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) or experience with developing against REST APIs  

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively/collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to be part of a collaborative team

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $100,000 - $155,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
