Description

At Grip Security, we’re redefining what cybersecurity means. As a trailblazing startup in one of the fastest-growing tech sectors, we’re not just building a better solution — we’re creating a whole new category. Our mission is bold, and our brand needs to be just as fearless. We’re a team of passionate, creative minds building something that matters, and we’re looking for a marketing leader who’s ready to help shape how the world sees us.

Position Overview

As the SDR Team Lead, you’ll serve as a day-to-day operational point of contact for the SDR team. You’ll still be responsible for generating pipeline yourself, but you’ll also take on additional responsibilities such as managing campaign execution, ensuring team compliance with tools and processes, and being the first line of support when SDRs have questions.

This is a player-first, leader-second role — ideal for someone who excels at outbound prospecting, has a strong grasp of SDR tools and techniques, and wants to step into light leadership without the full scope of management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Run Outbound Campaigns: Execute and lead team-wide outbound prospecting campaigns — sharing scripts, email copy, and call talk tracks
  • Answer Day-to-Day Questions: Act as the go-to resource for SDRs on process questions, CRM hygiene, sequences, and tools (Salesforce, SalesLoft, etc.)
  • Ensure Process Consistency: Help SDRs stay on track with activity levels, cadence usage, and data entry accuracy
  • Coordinate with Sales & Marketing: Align with sales and marketing on campaign goals, lead lists, and target account outreach
  • Monitor Team Activity: Track team performance metrics (calls, emails, meetings booked) and flag issues or blockers to the SDR Manager or Sales Leadership
  • Support New Hires: Assist with onboarding logistics by answering tool questions and helping them get up to speed on daily operations
  • Contribute to Pipeline: Maintain your own quota of meetings booked through outbound prospecting and follow-up

Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a top-performing SDR
  • Strong grasp of outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and using sales tools (Salesforce, SalesLoft/Outreach, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.)
  • Comfortable providing peer support, enforcing best practices, and escalating issues as needed
  • A team player who leads by example and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Interested in developing leadership skills, without taking on formal people management duties yet

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
