Cheddr Is Not Your Grandfather’s Sportsbook
Cheddr is a modern sports gaming and entertainment app rethinking how people engage with live sports — and we’re building it from the ground up. Backed by A16Z’s Speedrun 4 accelerator, we’re creating a bold, intuitive product in a space that’s overdue for change.
We’re looking for a founding designer to define and lead our full design vision — from UX flow to brand identity. This is a rare chance to own design from day one, shape the user experience from scratch, and build something people actually want to use.
What You’ll Do
-
Own end-to-end product design: from early concepts and flows to polished, high-fidelity UI
-
Create the design system and visual identity that defines the Cheddr brand
-
Collaborate closely with founders, PM, and engineers to ship early and often
-
Reimagine how users interact with sports — making it more dynamic, social, and rewarding
-
Bring clarity to ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment
-
Lay the foundation for design culture and process as we grow
Who You Are
-
Deep experience designing consumer-facing products, especially mobile
-
9+ years in product design, ideally at fast-moving consumer startups
-
Fluent in mobile-first design and Figma workflows
-
Thrive in 0→1 environments — you set direction, not wait for it
-
Obsessed with clean UX and thoughtful interaction
-
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapid iteration
-
Motion or animation design skills
-
Sports betting experience is a big plus
Why Join Cheddr

Equity + competitive pay at the earliest stage
-
Full ownership of design — brand, product, systems, and experience
-
A product-first team that truly values design
-
Freedom to explore bold ideas and move fast without red tape
-
Great benefits
Bonus Points If
-
You’ve worked in sports, gaming, sweepstakes, or entertainment
