RegScale is a continuous controls monitoring (CCM) platform purpose-built to deliver fast and efficient GRC outcomes. We help organizations break out of the slow and expensive realities that plague legacy GRC tools by bridging security, risk, and compliance through controls lifecycle management. By leveraging CCM, organizations experience massive process improvements like 90% faster certification times, and 60% less audit prep time. Today’s expansive security and compliance requirements can only be met with a modern, CCM based approach, and RegScale is the leader in that space.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Scrum Master to play a critical role in guiding and coaching our product engineering teams. This person will ensure that our agile processes are not only followed but also continuously improved to support rapid growth and evolving product demands. The ideal candidate thrives in a startup environment, is passionate about servant leadership, and can balance structure with flexibility to maximize team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Lead sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement to ensure smooth, value-driven delivery.
  • Coach & Mentor: Guide product managers, engineers, and stakeholders on agile best practices, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Remove Roadblocks: Proactively identify and resolve impediments that slow down delivery across multiple teams.
  • Drive Transparency: Ensure visibility into sprint progress, capacity, and risks through effective use of tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Partner with Leadership: Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and Executives to align sprint goals with business priorities.
  • Improve Processes: Continuously assess and refine how we deliver software, balancing speed, quality, and compliance.
  • Champion Culture: Foster an environment of trust and collaboration while maintaining a high-performance mindset.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach supporting software engineering teams.
  • Deep knowledge of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and when to apply them.
  • Experience working in fast-paced SaaS or startup environments (preferred).
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • CSM, PSM, or related Agile certifications (preferred).
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and/or regulated industries (e.g., government, defense, financial services) is a strong plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
