Team Overview
As a Scrum Master, you will report to the Senior Manager of the APMO Canada serving the Scrum Teams containing onshore and offshore resources to deliver TransUnion Products and Solutions. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
- Coach team members on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices Identify and remove impediments that may hinder team progress Promote collaboration and effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.
- Track and report on team progress using Agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts).
- Support Product Owners in backlog grooming and prioritization Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum practices and organizational standards Assist in scaling Agile practices across multiple teams if applicable.
- Facilitate/support ART ceremonies and events to backfill RTE when required.
- Understand the values and principles of Agile as outlined in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and be fully aligned to those values and principles.
- Build and manage timely communication channels with Stakeholders, escalate impediments, manage risk, and help ensure value delivery.
- Drive Lean-Agile transformation and engages in coaching leaders, teams, and SMs in the new processes and mindsets.
- Ensure program governance, and drive program level process improvement via PI Inspect & Adapt.
- Monitor the effectiveness of program processes and performance, and collaborate with the Product and GT teams on changes and improvements.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of how teams deliver product/service in the current structure and how multiple teams interact to deliver value.
- Manage dependencies through tracking upstream, downstream and cross scrum collaboration with teams that are part of Value Stream(s).
- Manage the implementation of reporting standards/KPIs across the ART and assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of applicable business experience in Information Technology and risk industry (credit or financial services background preferred).
- Scrum Master (SM) certification with 8+ years’ experience working with and coaching scrum teams.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in software application delivery including Agile delivery experience with globally distributed teams.
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Strong background in application delivery to guide and mentor teams in Adopting Agile principles and practices.
- Strong communicator with strong facilitation and collaboration skills.
We'd Love to See:
- Certification(s) in Agile methodologies (e.g., CSM, CSPO, CSP, PMI ACP, SA, SPC, RTE, SSM, SASM).
- Experience with Lean Portfolio Management facilitation for program, portfolio, or executive-level.
- Strong understanding of and demonstrated experience in using Tempo Time reporting, Confluence and Jira, Sharepoint.
- Experience with creating delivery metrics at team and ART levels to use for coaching/mentoring, retrospectives and for management awareness.
- Experience applying Lean Thinking and Systems Thinking in large organizations.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Agile at Enterprise scale.
- Prior experience with Agile Transformation activities.
The expected pay range for this position is $89,000 - $123,000 annually. The pay information provided for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of many factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. In addition, variable compensation is based on applicable company guidance and plan documents as well as performance.
